Xiumin
You were walking back from school when dark clouds started appearing, as you keep walking further nearer to your destination the number of grey clouds increases. Then finally you hear the sound of thunder looking up you see a flash of lightning and suddenly you can feel little droplets of rain. You decide to make a stop just until the rain passes, and you seek for shelter in a nearby cafe. It was new and spacious but simultaneously felt warm and cosy you find an empty table and chair at the very corner of the room right beside the window. This day was a typical 'gloomy day' but you really enjoyed these days, for reasons unknown.
As you watched the raindrops fall and create a ripple throughout the puddles, a waiter/barista came over to take your order. You lift your head catching your eye a short but handsome barista, you stop and stare while saying your usual, he cutely smiles and walks away to his station making your hot drink. Occasionally you secretly steal glances and start scratching your head pondering you've never seen this person before. After a few minutes he walks towards you and lays the finished drink flat on the table, he walks to the opposite side of the table and lands on a chair right beside you. Your eyes roll meeting his you're confused and puzzled, you twitch your eyebrow. He reads your expression and smiles.
Xiumin: Hi I'm Xiumin, I moved here just a week ago and have been a barista apprentice ever since then. I saw you stared at me while I was making your drink was there something you were worried about I was going to get wrong while making your drink? Because if you do, I am very welcome to horrible criticism. He smiled
You: I'm ________ I was staring at you while you were making my drink, but it wasn't because I was worried you were going to make my drink taste terrible. It was because, because. You look like someone I know. You kind of reminded me of someone that's all nothing else. You awkwardly said
Xiumin: Phew, thanks, I thought you were a critic who was trying to intimidate me with your stare.
You: Ah, really? Thanks for thinking I look smart enough to pass as a critic. But, is my stare that intimidating?
Xiumin: No, I don't mean it that way. I just mean that you, you-
You: Let's start again. Hi my name's ________
Xiumin: Hi I'm Xiumin
Both of you laugh and smile.
Xiumin: What I said earlier I didn't mean it that way.
You: Just forget about it.
Xiumin: Okay, I go and get back to work.
You: Yea, I should go too I only came here for a quick stop.
Xiumin: I see. I'll see you around then.
You: Yea, if it rains again.
Xiumin: What do you mean if it rains?
You: If it rains on the right time. I'll come back here. The time when I walk home from school.
Xiumin: But that's quite unlikely.
You: If it's fate it will happen.
Xiumin: A true believer of fate and destiny.
You: Yea I guess, kind of
Xiumin: I like it
Gazing at your face he brightly smiled you beam one as bright as his back.
Then steadily you open the door slowly wallking out onto the pavement. Clutching your bag tightly you put all your trust, hope and belief in fate.
