Screams of Mayhem and Fear were all that I could hear as I ran fast through the big empty white halls of Olympus. Breathing heavy I stopped, looking at the large grey stoned gate that created the forever closed fortress around Olympus. I turned around taking one last look at my home;Olympus, only now it wasn't the Olympus I always knew, this Olympus was full of terror. Children ran around screaming for their parents, people getting slaughtered like cows at a meat works and blood. Blood splattered everywhere I looked, soldiers fighting a losing battle against the evil that was freed from the box only moments ago.
'This is your doing' a dark and vindictive voice declared.
"No! I will make it better, I promise" I muttered. Making one last goodbye as I hoist the heavy bag containing weapons and the revolting box higher on my tense shoulder before jumping into the now closing emergency escape portal.
A loud knock on the hotel door echoed through the nearly empty room waking me up for a horrible dream that I call the biggest mistake of my life. Sighing I ran my hand under the soft pillowcase in search for the disgusting box, once making sure the horrendous thing is still in its place I grab my sliver blade and walk towards the door and whatever is behind it.
Before opening the door, I ran my fingers over the slick engravings on the sliver blade. Taking a breath I concealed the weapon in my sleeve with ease. With my foot I move the thick line of salt that I recently laid down to keep the demons away, I sighed hoping that I can reapply the salt before IT shows. I opened the screechy door slowly careful of any surprises, only to find the owner of this rundown hotel. Eyeing him up and down before immediately declaring him harmless.
"What do you want" I asked politely trying to give him the feel that I was harmless, even though I was nothing but.
He smiled before replying
"Honey, you need to pay for another night or leave, sorry".
"Okay" I sighed "let me get some money", shutting the door I walked over to my bag that was perched on the night stand zipping it open and grabbing a hand full of crisp notes that I stole from a bank a few towns back. I reopened the door then hand him the money,
"Is that enough?"I asked him again in a fake and harmless voice, he looked at me then the money and back to me again his jaw set wide. I raised my perfectly shaped eye brows at him, waiting for him to say anything, only he didn't. The owner ran down the dirty carpeted hall and rounded the corner so fast you'd think there was a fire. Closing the door I shrugged, pulling my luxurious long light brown hair into a tight ponytail as I walk towards the bathroom.
Shedding off all of my clothing i stood naked in front of the bathroom mirror examining the cuts and bruises I received from my recent demon hunt. Touching the newly sewed cut on my tone stomach i hissed in pain, it's very hard stitching up your own body, even harder when you have no medical experience. Well at least I didn't until I came to earth so many years ago, I've had to learn to live with what I have, which means fixing myself up after a demonic fight. I wish I could go to the hospital sometimes but what would I say 'yea I got that cut from a demons large and dirty claws.' No. Taking one last look at my black and blue body I moved to my face were not a scratch has been made. My face was flawless, skin milky white and light green eyes, that always remind me of my loving father, whom I betrayed.
Swallowing the lump that had formed in my throat at the memory, I slipped into my lingerie, black slacks and black singlet not very original but i would rather be comfortable when taking and giving brutal hits. Once fully clothed again I grabbed my black leather jacket off the edge of the germ ridden bath tub, I walked into the bed room to examine the information I've collected on this particular demon.
This demon was a weird one, as the autopsies show no harm has come to his victims other than a fatal wound to the chest, the demon hasn't tortured its victims in any way shape or form, always a quick death. Most demons I've came across have tortured their victims for days before killing them in the most gruesomest ways, but not this demon. "Be sure to ask it why before you kill it and condemn it to the box, might be an interesting story", a voice I've come all to familiar with said.
"Hundreds of years it's been, long and hard years and yet you still won't tell me who you are or where you come from, Why is that" I ask out loud to the mysterious voice.
"Wouldn't you like to know my dear" the eerie voice replied. I waited for an answer but none came, only a annoying song the voice sings when I'm on a hunt.
"We're off to kill a demon, a dark and horrible demon, we're gonna stab it in the chest and send it off to... Pandora help me out here where exactly do you send it to?" Huffing I grabbed a pen and drew a pentagram on my wrist, instantly the voice stopped.
One of the many things I've learn on earth is this symbol, the pentagram, it protects just like salt protects from demons, Which I forgot to lay out again, damn.
It was my tenth year on this hell saken planet when I realised that the voice goes away when I'm in a salt circle or touching a pentagram. I still don't know how I can hear it but I've learnt to live with it.
Having another once over of the information, I opened up my computer and hacked into every security systems in this run down town. I rubbed my sweaty hands together waiting for the system to load and thinking about the demon I'm anxiously waiting to meet and kill.
