I was done with my makeup. I looked at myself closely at the mirror. Brows, check. Lipgloss, check. Liners, check. There was something missing. I looked closely. "Oh. Lashes." I looked in my drawer and brought out my false lashes and fixed it. Lashes, double check. I wore an Ankara mini gown

and carried a brown bag. I was going to see Thomas. I got out of my room and walked down the long corridor leading to the living room. I saw Helen sitting on one of the single chair typing on her phone. She looked up at me when I appeared and laughed.
"How do I look?" I asked stretching out my hands and turning around so she could have a better view. She raised a brow and smiled one cheek. "You look like a slut ready to meet a client." She said looking rather serious. "I'm glad I look sexy than you do now."  She sucked in her teeth in frustration and calmly said. "I rather be looking less sexy than wearing a wig with no future."  Automatically my hands flew to my head. What does she mean I thought to myself feeling my wig. She laughed hysterically and I thought some thing was wrong with her. "You should see your face. Your expression was priceless." She paused to catch her breath and continued. " I was joking, you look take away." I hissed loudly, eyed her and walked away. I got into one of my dad's car and drove to Thomas's place. I haven't gone half way i decided to call Thomas to confirm if he was home. I connected my handsfree and dialed his line. It rang few seconds and Thomas voice boomed later.
"Abby?" He sounded quit dull and I thought perhaps he was sleeping.
"Hi Tom. Were you sleeping?" I asked feeling sorry. "Kind of. What's up?" It's been 2months since we graduated and I have not seen or heard from my friends. I and Thomas talk almost everyday and I was happy about this but we needed to see so we would talk. "I am very well thanks. I am heading your way now." He was quiet for a while. "Tom are you there?" I said. "OK I will be waiting." He said. I hanged up and drove down Thomas place smiling. I switched on the radio and DUA Lipa IDGAF was playing. I turned up the volume and rocked in my seat. I drove for about thirty minutes before I got there. I called him to let him know I was at the gate. He came, opened the gate and I drove in. I got out and he came to welcome me. He wasn't looking bad at all. He was wearing shorts and a tank top, in fact he looked cuter than the last I saw. His dad owns a rubber and a water factory. After school he had no problem job hunting, there was his father's business to run. He was looking OK and dependent. He even stays on his own already. The sight of his present state made me hunger for him the more.

He walked towards me smiling and flashing his white teeth. I couldn't help but smile back. "How are you Abby?" He said hugging me gently. I said "I'm good and you?" He withdrew and I wished we remained like that for ever. We are getting there I thought to myself. He walked towards his apartment and I followed behind. "I am fine too as you can see." We both laughed. This is what I have always wanted, and I am going to get him. We got in and I was marveled at the sight and fragrance that met me. We walked down the long corridor that connected the living to the exit. On the wall of the  corridor rested a big picture of the wild framed. I got to the living room and I felt like a pencil thrown into a big empty room. The space in it could swallow sixty people including the furniture's and fittings. The wall had marble tiles from top to bottom with a long LCD resting right at the center and pictures properly and neatly placed on the wall, I noticed his pictures wasn't on the walls too. Perhaps he is not the picture type. The chairs were huge and painted gold like the one they use in palaces and mansions. I couldn't help but wonder what his bedroom would look like. "You own this place?"  I said still looking around and admiring every bit. "Yes." He left for the kitchen and I took my time to observe.  How can one person stay all alone in this big place. I shouldn't be surprise but my house was my dad's not mine and I couldn't stay alone in such big houses like this. "And you stay alone?" I asked. I didnt get a reply. I help my self relax and I brought out my phone to take pictures for reference purpose. He came out holding a vintage tray.

Everything in here was classic and beautiful. He rested the tray containing fruit custard and bread on a stool beside me. "Yes I stay alone for now." He said seating next to me. "Why?" I paused to help myself with the tray. "Don't you have a girlfriend yet?"  I finished. He laughed softly. "Why not?" My heart dropped. "But she traveled for her masters program and I don't think she will ever come back." Yes! I almost thought aloud. What did they say about that light at the end of a tunnel? That was an opportunity knocking and I better open up before I loose it...
"Can I be that girl from around here?" I said looking straight into his eyes and trying hard to keep the eye contact. It was hard saying that but when determination sets in, there's no mountain too high to climb. I sat waiting for his response but I didn't get any. It's normal, i wasn't expecting a reply so soon. I would give him time. For now all I can do is finish this  custard i felt was much and wait.

A/N. I am writing my exams. I don't want to keep you waiting so I am writing two chapters tonight. Hope you enjoyed this and what do think about Abby's proposal. V and C thanks 😘
