春虎 [haruto]"no matter where i go,
i always end up by your side."
-way back homethe wait for the bus in the morning and afternoon has always been the dreaded time of my day. listening to music and sitting on a bench isn't exactly my ideal thinking of productive, but it's typical.
i sighed, looking at my phone. why is the bus so late today? i shut my eyes and placed my phone back in my coat pocket. this has gotta be the longest wait i have been on.
my eyes were starting to feel heavy, so i opened them slightly, only to be greeted by a familiar face next to me. i jumped, not realizing there was already someone sitting beside me. she looked at me and smiled. suddenly, i felt a weird feeling feeling in my stomach.
"you must be, haruto?" she asks, looking down at my uniform then looking back at me again. "y-yes." i answered politely in accident, after taking out my headphones.
i know who she is. she's in my grade but from a different class. "you're in class two, right?" she asked. i nodded and bit my lip, starting to feel anxious for no reason that i can't even explain. "i'm harin from class one. nice to meet you." she let out her hand and i took it.
without even realizing it, the bus came and i let go of her hand. "let's go?" she asked with her her lips pursed. i followed her lead and tapped my bus card on the screen. "let's sit here." she said, looking back at me. i nodded and sat beside her.
i could feel her glancing over me, and i looked back. "are you from japan?" she asked. i blinked twice and nodded. "you.. don't talk a lot, do you?" she asked, chuckling.
a nervous laugh came at me while i scratched the back of my neck. "sorry, it's been a habit." i replied, which is true. i haven't been the most sociable person since i came here to korea.
i glanced back down on my phone and plugged in one of my headphones in my left ear as i played the song that i was listening to earlier at the stop. i looked over at harin and offered her the other one. she smiled and took it.
at the end of this journey,
time has led me back.
back to my home,
now i found my way back home."we have similar music tastes." she said and i smiled. i hummed to the song as i moved my head to the beat while glancing over at harin. "do you.. take the bus after school too?" i asked. "mhm." a smile crept up my face again.
suddenly, i think waiting for the bus will be my favorite part of the day.
