Chapter 6

So far in my first day I have managed to piss off 3 popular girls, have my boyfriend in the eyes of a popular girl, and I think my days in the shadows are almost over.

Great.

"Sorry Tona but we had to get you away from there as soon as possible." I said to Tona.

"Why did they go up to me in the first place?" Tona asked me.

Megan was very quiet for some reason but I suppose she didn't have to add anything.

"Well Hannah has a crush on you for a start." Mia said.

"Wait why would she have a crush on me? I'm just a kid who lays low with our little squad and isn't really popular anymore." Tona wondered.

"That's what we are trying to find out." Mia stated.

"Also I know for a fact those three despise me." I said.

"Yeah I saw Hannah look like she was about to punch you." Tona said sadly.

"Well I feel like we all have had our fair share of hate when it comes to them." Megan says quietly.

She is right though. Hannah used to be part of the LGBTQ+ community till she left us and turned straight, Anna is a girl who Megan had a crush on once who hates both Megan and me, and Abbey used to be Tona's girlfriend till he realized he was bi then turned gay.

"Why is it that Abbey had to get wrapped up with us again?" Tona asked.

"Simple, we all have awful luck." Mia said and we all agreed.

What I didn't notice was a girl was following us.

When we all got to the water fountain we all took turns getting water.

"Well how did your first period go Tona?" I asked.

"It was kinda lonely without you or anyone to be with." He said sadly.

"Do you want me to make you feel less lonely?" I asked.

Tona didn't respond and leaned towards my face and gave me a quick kiss on the lips.

"You already fixed that problem." Tona said sweetly.

"Awwww." Mia said behind me.

"Shut up!" I said not really meaning it but I'm pretty sure she knew that.

A girl across the hall put away her phone and ran away.

I noticed her as she put away her phone.

"Oh shit..." I said.

"What's wrong?" Tona asked.

"A girl from across the hall just put away her phone and she was looking directly at me." I said quietly.

"That's not good." Megan said.

Mia was in shock.

"Do you know who it was?" Megan asked.

"Yeah I think so, I think it was Haley." I say quietly. I never really did like Haley. She was an annoying person who knew she was popular and would practically use that to her advantage. That's at least how I see her.

"Of course." Megan mutters.

Tona sighs.

"Well we better get to our classes." I say sadly.

"See you in a bit." I say to Tona and give him a little hug. Tona has Social Studies next and the three of us still have to go back to ELA because ELA is two periods.
