The Dragon and the Princess

Chapter 4*

Lucy woke up at the crack of dawn, as she normally did. When she woke, she looked over and saw Natsu sleeping softly. She replayed the conversation they had last night in her head. Did he really return her feelings? She quietly got up and stepped over Natsu, so she could get dressed and make them breakfast. She decided to make pancakes with lots of butter and syrup. Natsu liked pancakes. When breakfast was ready and the table was set, she gently woke up Natsu.

"Natsu, wake up. I made breakfast." Lucy said gently. Natsu slowly opened his eyes, and smiled.

"Good. What is it? I'm hungry." Natsu said. As he saw the pancakes on the table, he jumped up and started eating. Lucy laughed and sat down with him at the table.

"How'd you sleep?" Lucy asked. "Did you have the dream again?"

Natsu laughed, and said "I slept well, and I didn't have the dream! I had a different one..." He blushed as he said the last part. Luckily, Lucy didn't ask what it was. She assumed by the blush that it was something about her. {AN: nothing dirty, I swear.}

"Hey... About last night..." Said Natsu, but right then, Happy came in through the window.

"Hi guys! Natsu, did you stay here last night? I was at Carla and Wendy's. Hope you don't mind!" Happy said cheerfully as he pulled out a fish and sat down with them.

"Nah, it's okay. I kinda figured that's where you were. I did stay here last night." Natsu replied.

"Heeeee liiiiiiiikkkkkkkeeesssss yooooouuuu" Happy chanted jokingly.

"I know" Lucy said as she turned a vibrant shade of red. Happy looked surprised. It seemed that he didn't know either, he was just guessing.

Natsu finished his pancakes and said "Let's go to the guild. Mira said she had an announcement today!"

Lucy laughed as she said "I know what it is. Mira, Juvia, Levy, Erza, and I helped plan it. Oh, and Freed." And with that, they walked to the guild, laughing and talking about recent jobs, and that Lucy's rent was due next week, so they had to go on a job soon.
