peace

peace in the rain
the pitter-patter on the sidewalk
the thud-thudding on your umbrella
the splish-splash of the puddle beneath you
what
a
calm
night
     ahead
         of
                    you

peace on the subway
earbuds in your ears
distant chatter and
the hum below you
mingles
with your resonant
moonlight sonata
an 'auditorium'
filled with an 'audience'
yet
you're the one
paying attention
to the finest details
of the calm between
the worries of the world,
the incessant, garish laughs,
and the pure bliss of
being ignored by them
does this make sense? no? okay.
the world can care
about their trivial gossips
but you
you have your music
and the steady motion of the train
listen to them whine
about their 9 to 5 jobs
listen to them rant
about their pushy friend,
oh, but you can't!
you're
           drowning
                               drowning
                      drowning
drowning
in beethoven's ocean
then
the carriage's lights dim
the leaning and sitting figures fade into insignificant silhouettes
as the train doors slide open
with a flourish
another dimension
appears
and the platform becomes a stage
getting up, a spring in your step
you twirl your way out
/ oh God, i don't what this is coming to /

darkness envelopes you
with warmth that light
could never provide
your only 'companion'
the crackling fire
it seems to cackle at your isolation
but he does not understand
that this empty room
doesn't necessarily mean
an empty heart
the book in your hands
its words mock you
for living in the dark
for so long
but she must understand
that her words
does not offend you
as much as the people
outside does
makes sense? still no? good.
their words are a double-edged sword
ready to slice your heart
just so that they have a prize to carry home
and show their friends and families
how much superior
they are to you
the wind blows outside
whispering of things
you should be hearing
but you didn't
'you should make friends'
'you should get an A1 in your test'
'you should do this'
'you should do that'
because being alone
in this room
your bedroom
is much more comforting
than to have
all the 'nice things' in the world

you open your phone
to play piano music
no notifications appear
'a blissful life'
you say
the music fills the room
a whole symphony
a whole heart
the steady rhythm steadies your heart
oh, if life could be this peaceful!

sorry for abruptly ending the poem short, cuz I'M SUPER FRIKKING SLEEPY
btw this is just a scenario i got from the many situations of me listening to music (piano music in particular) and just zoning out, tuning out of this chaotic-ridden world. i'm extremely sorry if this doesn't make sense at all as this is something coming deep down from the seven seas of my mind (lol seven seas of my mind) and me trying to express it in a way that is slightly coherent to the english language structure thing idk

kay see ya later, moonlights!
