chapter 1

this morning I woke up to the screaming of my annoying sister.

"CHRIS I MADE PANCKAES!!" my older sister yelled.

actually this isn't annoying considering it's about food.

"OMG THANK YOU SOO MUCH. IM STARVING!!" I screamed back.

I ran as fast as I could downstairs and bumped into my best friend.

Jacob Whitesides.

he pulled me into a tight hug and said in my ear "you're so beautiful in the morning. well you are every other part of the day. but girls think they look ugly in the morning but not you Chris."

I gave him a shy smile and bit my lip nervously.

we've been friends for as long as I can remember. he basically lives at my house. if he's not over here, I'm at his house. he's honestly the best friend everyone should have, he's amazing.

with his brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. his smile is the best thing I've ever seen in my entire life and when he runs his fingers through my hair I just wanna--

wait. me and Jacob are best friends. that's wrong. he's never liked me like that and never will.

before I get any further let me explain my life.

so my name is christina but basically everyone calls me Chris. I'm 15 but I turn 16 next month. I'm not really an average teenager. I'm homeschooled because I used to get bullied. that's how I met Jacob. he's a grade older than me. he asked me to sit with him at lunch one day. and we've been friends ever since.

this was in 2nd grade and now I'm a sophomore. but it's the last month of school so summer is approaching pretty fast.

I live in California with my sister, who is 23. she let me come live with her because when mom died I didn't really relate to anyone else. my dad still lives in Canada where me and my sister were originally from.

she works and I'm homeschooled so I just stay at home all day everyday. Jacob goes to public school but he stays the night all the time and comes over everyday after school.

next weekend I have to go to Canada to see my dad so we can celebrate my birthday even though it's still in like 3 weeks.

I'm really not looking forward to it. my dad is really shy around me because he never knows how to treat me. I only see him like once a year.

and besides, nothing interesting ever happens in canada.
