Suffocation

 I remember the pain.

The way it cracked through me like lightning.

A nebulous abyss of an ocean; it swarmed me with regret.

There was an inner suffocation that came with it; like smoke evading my lungs, it swirled in a sequence of emotion.

It was almost cleansing, like a rain to the earth.

A slight sprinkle that slowly swept across the land.

Its smell smoked off the pavement in a sting of regret.

In an instant it poured down on me in a tsunami of distress.

The drops warm and inviting; a laugh that sprang off the earth.

Some cold and harsh; they nipped at me slowly, then all at once took my breathe in a sharp gasp.
