Is it possible, I wonder, for a man to truly loves a woman?
Is unconditional love really do exist?I don't consider myself as a sentimental woman. I don't lose myself in romantic films. I've never dream that someday a man will walk at my door to swept off my feet and be happily in love.
I hope you view my character with a forgiving eye, I may not be a sentimental but I am not completely with no emotion.Until I met this man who change my perception about love. I am Mia and this is my story.

September 2016
Manila, PhilippinesIt was a cold september morning and I was preparing myself to go to work.
My mother knocked on my room, "Mia you're breakfast is ready, hurry up! You're going to be late".
"Mom, I'm coming". I answered back. I run myself to the mirror to check my look, satisfy with my appearance I went out of my room and run to the staircase.
My mom sigh, "Mia when will you change? You're always running late."
I sip my coffee before I talk "sorry mom but I can't sleep last night, insomnia is attacking me, I should be going before rush hour".
I get my packed lunch that my mom prepared for me and I was heading to the door when I hear my mom say "Mia don't forget to dropped by at our bookstore later it's my birthday and we're having dinner."
"Yes m0m I'll be on time bye, see yah!"
I walk from my house to the bus stop and just in time for the second trip, thank God!,
I sit in front, passengers are few since this is the first stop.I breathed the fresh morning air as the Bus starts to run. I work as a Flight Operations Officer (FOO) in an airline company my duties are to make flight plans for the pilot and ensure the safety of every flight.
Actually my job is not so ordinary it's a very challenging job sometimes stressful but I love it, I enjoy doing it everyday.
I went down from the bus and run to our building to have my exact time in at the bandy-clock.
Our receptionist, Terry greeted me, "Good morning Mia!, It's a great day!"
I smiled, "yeah, the weather is good I hope we have a smooth flight today."
I went straight to my desk and start my work.
The whole day at work is a smooth sailing we don't have any major disruptions most of the flights were on time only few are delayed due to air traffic congestions and that was fine it's unavoidable circumstances."I'm having a great day" I mutter to myself. I was typing at my computer when my officemate, Rob approached me. "Hey Mia! What's up?! He smiled at me.
I stare at him with frown and say "hi Rob."
I don't hate him I'm not just necessarily excited of his existence. To sum it up he is just a dumb playboy who think himself as too handsome and charismatic- a godsend man to every woman. I pity him for that.He moved his chair near me still smiling "are you busy tonight? Can we watch movie?"
I rolled my eyes, "yes I'm busy I have a date with my mother it's her birthday."
He put his right hand on my shoulder "can I come?"
I answered him irritatingly "two things Rob, first, you can't come because its a private dinner second, get off of me I don't want you touching me. If I were you I'll get back to work and be more productive. Stop flirting!"
He pulled his hand "playing hard to get huh' I'll ask you again in some other time, sweetheart."
I just ignored him and continue on what I'm doing. God forgive me if I slap a man's face one of these days. He is pushing me beyond my limits.
At exactly 5pm I leave our office and headed to my mom's bookstore. I brought her gift a week ago and hide it at my locker in the office.
I went down on a cab and notice the man inside our bookstore who is talking to my mother, maybe he is just one of the customer I thought.
I open the door and greet my mom "hey there! Happy birthday mom!" Lifting my gift to her.
My mom smiled "Mia you're just on time I want you to meet Jake he is a family friend."
The man smiled at me. I stare at him observing his look. I guess He's in early thirties He is tall, with a handsome face a bright hazelnut eyes, thick brows that compliment his facial feature, a red lips and a clean white teeth. Alright he is a goddamn' handsome.
I smiled back "Hi, nice meeting you Jake."
We handshake, "same here Mia". Jake replied.
I face my mom "if he is a family friend why I didn't seen him in any family occasion or gatherings?"
My mom replied dryly "He's too busy Mia".
Jake stood up "yep and besides I'm not even in the country."
He turned to my mom "Mrs. Anderson it's nice seeing you again. I should be going."
He stare at me and smile "See you around Mia."
He exited from the bookstore and I keep my gaze at him. By that very moment I know my life will never be the same again.
