Two days later, the somber mood was still strong. Glynda found herself back in her own dorm room, reflecting on everything.
She lost her sister, and the burial was more painful than she expected. However, she knew life would move on, and so would she. She'd have to, both for her sake as well as Y/n's.
Speaking of the little boy, he was currently sat on Glynda's bed wearing a forlorn expression still. His knees were pulled up to his chest, while in his hand he clutched a plushie that looked like a chibi version of a (F/c) western dragon.
He'd barely spoken since arriving at Beacon, and the glimmer in his eyes was still dim. He hadn't even gone to see his mom off for the final time, though Glynda came to find out it was per M/n's own wishes, as she didn't want her son to see her dead while he was still so young.
The blonde teacher expected as much, she knew her sister after all. Though even without that sight, just the reality of the situation drained all of the child's joy.
He lost his father to Grimm when he was just a few years old and now his mother was gone as well. Such an event would linger for a long time even with an adult like Glynda, but for a child it would be life changing.
Slipping on her nightgown, she walked over to (Y/n) and sat next to him, her hand gently stroking the back of his head.
"I know how you must feel right now (Y/n). You must feel lonely...abandoned. Not to mention heartbroken." She got no direct answer, but she did feel him give a slight nod. "I feel the same sweetie. She was my only sister, not to mention my only remaining relative..." she then ruffled (Y/n)'s hair slightly with a tiny smile. "Except for you, of course. I guess that kind of leaves us in the same situation, huh?"
"...I-I guess..."
(Y/n)'s voice was barely above a whisper. But the simple fact he spoke made Glynda's smile grow slightly.
Wrapping her arms around the young boy's body, Glynda held her nephew as close as possible. He returned the hug after a brief moment, before the blonde spoke in a soft tone.
"I know it's a hard reality to accept...I'd give anything I could to get her back for you..." the teacher then cupped (Y/n)'s face and brought it close to her own. "But hey...you still have me. Not just me, but the other professors as well. Along with everyone else who was at the landing pad today. And I'm certain you'll meet many more in the future as well!"
"R-Really?" (Y/n) questioned with a little skepticism.
Glynda nodded her head, giving her nephew a quick peck on the forehead.
"Definitely."
The two kept hugging for a little while longer, until Glynda decided it was time to head to bed.
Once under the blanket, the blonde smiled as she saw the young child snuggle into her side. She then poked his cheek lightly causing (Y/n) to look up into her green orbs.
"I know it's a hard thing to ask of you, especially now...But we'll have to do our best to move on. M/n wouldn't want us to keep grieving forever, she'd want us to move on. You don't have to force yourself to forget her but just...try to focus on the positive things in life, alright? Like all the new people that are excited to get to know you~"
She said in a slightly upbeat tone, giving the boy another gentle poke on the nose.
Y/n however looked hesitant.
"New people...I-I...what if t-they're like the others.."
Glynda's eyebrows furrowed slightly, knowing what Y/n was talking about. And she would be lying to herself if she said she didn't still feel angry at how the boy was treated by others.
