Eyes

Here lies this lady whom we know for death
We froze in place; her eyes did hold our heart
We felt nothing, for pain is lost with breath
Then we resent the eyes where lives depart

But when I look into her eyes- rejoice
For yes, she holds my life within her gaze
But I, the one who chose to look, had choice
And thus for once, contain soon does abrase

Medusa's eyes of stone do freeze my mind
And yet I'm drawn, for I must sow my pain
The foe is me, and thus its me I bind
I look to her, and thus those eyes constrain

And when I speak of pain she brought, my eyes
cry out, for I am where Medusa lies
