"No, you don't know what it's like

When nothing feels all right

You don't know what it's like

To be like me

To be hurt

To feel lost

To be left out in the dark

To be kicked when you're down

To feel like you've been pushed around

To be on the edge of breaking down

And no one's there to save you

No, you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life"

My Normality Ends Here

Chapter 1

Jordyn's POV

Dear Diary,

Today is September 3rd...Happy Birthday to me! First day of school and I'm ready to roll. I'm hoping my best friend, Dayna Bentley, will be in my class this year, we've known each other since kindergarten! She was my first friend, it would be horrifying to split us apart.

Anyways,

Wish me luck!

~Jordyn Woodstock

I pack up my diary and head downstairs to pack my bag for the first day of school. My mom "surprises" me with her famous, hidden birthday cake, in my lunch. I pretend like I don't realize it there-like I have every year for the past two years.

"I love you honey! Happy 12th Birthday!" She snuggles me in her warm cardigan.

"Thanks Mom! Love you!"

My brother does his casual, "Sup, leave me alone, oh and by the way, happy birthday, loser." Typical Derek.

Still in my pajamas, I rummage through the fridge, hoping that there's some fruit parfait left from our vacation on the weekend-my Dad put it on his plate and snuck it in our cooler bag at the buffet, along with twenty cookies and some home-made rice krispies, that so happened to be in my lunch today.

"I think your brother ate them all." My Dad says leaning beside me to look in the fridge too.

"Seriously? DEREK! YOU JERK!" I yell to him, although I know he won't hear me.

*****************************************

Getting onto a school bus full of so many people you don't know, is no picnic. There's so many faces staring up at you as you wonder the aisle, looking for an empty seat.

Yet again, Dayna's not on my bus, she never is. I can always picture what it would be like-the best music possible, all the things in the world to talk about, sharing cherry lip gloss-a girls dream!

I see some new faces, but I also seem some familiar ones. There's Kim Hamilton over there sitting with Veronica Bunks-they've been like the best of friends since they both came to our school in fourth grade.

I would sit with Kim and Veronica. I've tried that before, but every time I sit near one of Kim's friends, it's like an alarm system goes off and only Kim can hear it. She's so protective of all her friends. If she's not their main friend then they aren't allowed to be friends.

Over on the other side of the bus Ethan Samuels and Jordan Ballony sit beside each other. I've had like a massive crush on Jordan Ballony since grade five when he came to our school.
