I walked into the creepy hospital, I know I needed some money to pay my rent, so I saw an add for a job at a mental hospital. Ideal career, right? I knew I would be working around a bunch of crazy people.

That did scare me, I'll admit that. I showed up to the front desk, and a short brown haired girl turn towards me behind the counter. She had a friendly smile, then she spoke up. " Hi can I help you? are you here to visit or..."

"Oh no, I called earlier I'm applying for a job here" I answered.

"Oh, I'm sorry, is your name..." she searched through papers on here desk " here it is ah.. Valerie"

"Yes" I replied happy that she found my things.

"Great" she handed me a clip board of papers and told me to fill them out, and give them to her when I was done.

I took a seat in an empty waiting room, it gave me an uneasy feeling. I knew I needed to concentrate and fill these damn things out.

The questions were very basic, how old was I, my date of birth, and what was my past experiences with this kind of work. The only work I've ever did with this kind of thing was baby sitting. I finished a good 15 minutes later.

The girl quickly thanked me, and told me to go down the hall and find a man and a women. I went down the long skinny hall way with windows of the helpless patients inside.

I found the two people at the absolute end of the hall. They were going on about some patient at the hospital, from what I could here he was quite a handful.

"excuse me" I politely spoke.

" Oh, can I help you?" the tall blonde said.

"Ah, my name is Valerie-"

"Oh, yeah Valerie" she interrupted "you're the newbie, right?"

"Yeah, I guess" I nervously laughed.

"did you fill out the papers?" she questioned

" Yes, the lady at the desk told me to come down here" I fiddled with my fingers.

The man next to her stayed quite, they both had rings on. Which I assumed they were married.

"Okay, awesome" She looked through a bunch files in a box, and pulls out one.

"Your homework is to read this tonight" she said seriously.

It was a file folder, I opened it to see a picture and a name. It read Luke Robert Hemmings.

I shook my head and said "okay." I closed and she quickly began talking again.

"That's the patient you will be talking care of"

"Okay, when can I start?" I can honestly say I was a bit exited, and also nervous.

It did strike me that I would be taking care of someone, and I can't even take care of myself.

"You'll start tomorrow" she said forwardly.

"wow, that's soon. Is there anything I need to know about him?"

"Well, here's the catch. He's know to be quite... ahh" she looked at the man next to her.

"Violent" he finally spoke up. My heart sank at his choice of words that echoed in my brain.

"Violent?" I questioned, unsure of my decision of choosing this.

"Well, know one else will work with Luke because of his.. actions" She paused. "I'll admit he has tried to kill every person that walks through his door." She breathed out and looked at the ground.

"On the bright side we will pay you double what we would usually pay if you work with Luke" She pleaded.

I looked at her blankly, I could not even begin to explain my feelings at this moment.

"He really is a nice kid, he'll like you" she pulled a fake smile.

"Are you serious?!" she has to be crazy.

"please, I'm begging you. please" she pleaded, the man next to her spoke again.

"Look it's a great pay, and if you ever feel in danger, you can just leave." I could tell they were both desperate.

I knew I needed this money, "okay" I huffed "I'll do it"
