Before you read, just know there is a very sensitive topic written in this chapter. So here's your trigger warning.

His eyes were the lightest shade of green as they shined with the smile upon his face. Michael sat on the stairs leading to the grassy part of our backyard, with me as we watched our friends enjoying themselves. Everyone was around us and laughing, either with their own conversation or talking about Ashton setting up the fireworks. Luke and Nicole were sat around my patio table, going back and forth about a song that Nicole thought should be on the upcoming album. Luke thought that they should leave it completely off of it. I wasn't going to comment on it mainly because Michael and I both loved the song and thought that it should be included. Calum and his girlfriend Hannah were laughing and joking with Ashton as he was trying to set up the fireworks we had got for tonight.

It was mine and Michael's two year relationship anniversary and we decided to have just a small party with all eight of us. Ashton's girlfriend, Amelia, was sitting beside Hannah, watching Ashton and telling him to be careful.  We had brought out the grill and had loads of food on it and laying around the table. It wasn't quite dark out yet but we decided to set everything up before night came. The warm July sun was slowly going down as the stars and moon were making their way into the sky.

Around me, the music we had playing turned into a slow hum of Ghost of You  off their last album. I had to say that it was my favorite song by them.

The last few years have been rocky to say the least. Michael and I have a great relationship, we try to have co-tour's whenever we can because it makes it a lot easier and helps us with our relationship. We have had fights, gotten mad at each other to the point where we're yelling at each other but we have also had the best times of our lives together. Things may have gotten tough at one point, we had went through a really depressing time when we found out that we were going to be parents, only to lose the baby a couple weeks after. Neither of us were ourselves and everyone knew it, but no one could figure out why since we hadn't told anyone that we had been pregnant. It wasn't until a major breakdown moment of mine that we told of what we were going through. It had been a couple months since that experience and even though we would always have that between us, we had been able to make it through.

"Hey, what are you thinking about, sweets?" Michael bumped his shoulder with mine, interrupting my thoughts. I smiled at him, watching as his natural blonde hair was messed up a bit by the blowing wind. It was crazy that he had stopped with the random colors and has since just left it to grow natural. I took lessons from him, and mine hasn't changed to any abnormal color, either. I like it just the way it is, mainly because the upkeep is minimal and easy.

"Just about what we went through." I saw the flicker of hurt in his eyes but he smiled anyway while grabbing my hand and squeezing it.  I knew it was still a tough subject for him as he has always wanted to become a dad. Seeing him absolutely lose it whenever we miscarried, it completely broke my heart. The only thing I want in life is to never see that look in his eyes again.

"Want to take a walk with me?" He didn't press me to talk more about it, instead going in a different direction with his words.  I nodded my head, letting him lead us away from the music and chatter of voices around us. The sun had fully sunk behind the mountains in the distance and we were just a couple minutes away from the fireworks going off.  thankfully, Michael and I's house set on a nice junk of land away from our neighbors so we knew that we weren't going to get a noise complaint called on us. That's why we decided on fireworks instead of doing a bonfire.
