Kobayashi Ren was the name they gave her. Abandoned at a young age in front of an unnamed temple, she ought to have perished.
She was raised by the ones who dwelled within its holy walls. Raised to protect the living from the evils that roamed the earth. In her final year of training, Ren is assigned an important task. She is to find and contain the thing that lurks within the city of Musutafu, Japan.
Ren was no friend, nor was she a foe. She did not kill without reason nor did she do so without weighing the burdens it would entail. She was no monster, for she empathized with the Devil.
Would any of it be worth it, in the end?
