I haven't found the right time. He was awkward with me and I was awkward with him. Besides that, the show's doing great. Groff recovered quickly and is back kicking and swinging. We get holiday vacation off this weekend and I am so excited to have a break.

I sat backstage waiting for the final song to be over so we could dismiss to break! It's like school all over again. Although I was resigned from the show, I still had my room. I sat in there afterwards just looking at my phone. Until I heard a familiar voice enter my room.

"Hey," he said in yet another awkward tone. It was Diggs.

"Hi." I respond, looking up from my phone.

"Can I talk to you about something?" Diggs asked.

"Sure,"

"I can't be your friend," He trailed off.

"What? Why?"

"It's too hard for me. I'm not the type to open my feelings that well, but it's just too hard to be your friend. It's hard because I know I want you as more than just a friend." He said. "That's all I wanted to say."

I sat there speechless.

"You don't have to say anything," He said, on his way out.

"Ok," I had no idea what to say.

"Ok?" He stopped and looked at me.

"What do you want to be then?"

"I don't know," He said. "But I know I want more. And it's ok if you don't want the same thing."

"I..." I couldn't think of anything in particular to say. I wanted him. "I want the same thing." I said, smiling. "But, I've never dated someone. I just-"

He shut the door behind him then walked to me, which silenced me. He gently stroked my cheek with his hand. He is my dream.

"I can help," He smiled as he pressed his lips to mine.

I nodded. We kissed again, this time I kissed him. A thought that popped into my head, ended our connection.

"Oh my god," I panicked.

"What is it?" He asked concerned.

"Lin," I said. "This cannot get out to anyone. Alright Diggs?"

"Why?"

"I don't want Lin finding out. Not until I find a way to tell him,"

"Deal,"  He said,

I sighed a breath of relief and then opened my door to go out in the hall. Daveed followed closely after me.

Everyone cleared out of the building, but he and I stayed after. I stayed after because I promised Lin I would do a few things for him and Daveed stayed behind because I stayed.

I turned on my phone so I could play some music while I work. I have mostly old '50s all the way up to '90s music, but nothing past 2000. Except for Hamilton. A song from Hamilton came on and it happened to be the song Helpless.

When Eliza's parts came on, I sang them as I checked the back for props and made sure they were all in working order. I ignored Angelica's parts because I was her for awhile and I want to know what it's like to sing in other characters. When it came to Hamilton's rap part, I said it perfectly then switched back to Eliza quickly. I stopped to look at our logo, and I thought how far we've come. Then, all of a sudden, I felt a hand on my back. I turned around and saw Daveed.

"You have a beautiful voice," He said, grinning and staring deep into my eyes.

I couldn't pull away nor say anything back. I have never had a real boyfriend before. One to call mine nor one to show affectionate towards. This was all new to me and it kinda freaked me out, but at the same time, it comforted me. I was finally able to pull away from his eyes. I gave him a smile without looking.

"You heard?" I asked.

"Yeah, I did."

"So, are we, dating now?"

"I would like to think so. Do you want to,"

"Yes," I said with a little too much eager in my voice. I automatically started to blush after I figured out how eager I was being. To hide it from him, I looked down at my shoes.

He took his right hand and gently lifted my gaze off of my shoes and onto him. We were both facing each other. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I allowed it to happen and lifted my arms to wrap around his neck. We exchanged smiles before he kissed me.

"I'm happy to call you mine, Care." He said in between our kiss.

"I'm just lucky," I said after he made his statement.

The ring of my phone pulled us away. I took my phone from my back pocket and answered it.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Caroline? It's starting to get late. You should really come home." Lin said from the other side of the phone line.

"Alright. I'll have to lock up the theater."

"Are you there with anyone?" He asked. "I heard that Daveed is still there."

I looked up at Daveed and thought of what to say.

"No," I lied. "Daveed left along with everyone else."

"Ok."

He ended the call. I looked up and took a deep breath.

"I just lied to my brother." I said.

"It's alright," Said Diggs, trying to comfort me. "You lied to him now, but you'll tell him the truth when you are ready."

"You're right," I said. "So is Lin. It's getting late."

I put my phone back into my pocket and turned off all the lights. I took out the keys and followed Daveed out the door and locked it behind us.

"So, what about I take you somewhere tomorrow?" Daveed asked bashfully.

"That would be great," I agreed.

"Alright. After the show, get ready and I'll take you somewhere special." He grinned.

Anywhere with him is special.
