Prologue

I am not a hero. In this reality and at this time, heroes are not what most want them to be. They are officers and fire fighters. They are doctors and volunteers. In this day and age, heroes don't wear capes. Heroes are ordinary people. Anybody can be a hero with enough effort and time.

I am a story teller. I do not pretend to relate to the characters I will tell you about, and I do not tell you that I know them on a personal level. Rather I tell you that this tale about these three impossibilities comes from an opposing identical world to our own. This world has many similarities to the world around you. However, the number of differences are incomprehensible. Some, though, must be explained in order for you to understand the problems these people went through and how it created who they became.

In this world, the definition of hero has been used so much that we are never amazed by the presence of a true hero. A man who gives his life to save others. A woman who is hospitalized for running into a burning building to save children. A young worker who drives all night to bring injured and dying people to the hospital, just so they can afford to pay their own mother or fathers living expenses while practically living on the street. These are our heroes. These heroes that we see almost everyday and many don't think twice about. Heroes that we say we will never forget, but sometimes we forget to remember. In this other world, these heroes do not exist. There are officers and fire fighters and doctors. But they work for a paycheck. The concept of morals that we, as humans, are given, these people do not have. They care for themselves and the ones they love and will do whatever it takes to keep them happy and safe. Superheroes, as we create and read about, do not exist in this world. There is no evil to fight, if evil is a misunderstood concept. There is the law that is meant to keep people from anarchy, and that is it.

Because of this absence in morals, there is a large gap in religious understandings. What many believe in when it comes to a higher power, has no hold in this world. There are no gods or deities, just men and women with different agendas.

This misunderstanding of morals led to an accelerated understanding of science. Human trials for many medicines and drugs were allowed to be done without hesitation. Bionic robotics has been a concept that many scientists and inventors have been attempting for years, and many citizens have died for. But they don't see anything wrong with that. They just keep trying.

Another thing seen in this world is the talk of pollution. Global warming, oil spills, landfills. All of these problems, don't exist in this world. They deemed pollution as a problem early on. The idea is still fresh in the world for them, but they have found a cure. Our concept of recycling, they've duplicated ten-fold. Everything can be recycled from your old phone to the broken glass window in your garage, and just like our bottle deposits, there is a payment for your recycling. Everything a person brings in, comes out in the form of money in their pocket. It is a good incentive for a dying economy such as there's.

It was these three factors that caused the creation of these three people. These people, that would be this world's first heroes.
