"What?"My eyes were fixated on the man seated in front of me, focused on nothing else but him. He was impassively staring back at me, his sculpted face devoid of emotion; his arms were casually folded against his chest, his body language showing nothing but calmness.
Fury and indignation began igniting and boiling within my veins as red hot rage clouded my sight. How dared he? Withholding this information from me, when I was concerned in this situation as much as he was? Sitting there, all brooding and calm, his royal Alpha ass comfy on smooth leather, when the lives of other wolves were in danger?
I took a step forward, causing my injured leg to burn under the force of my action, but I held back the hiss that was threatening to escape my lips. My blood was humming, my aura of dominance reeking profusely from my body. The other wolves in the room stiffened, but I didn't care. Everything I cared about was smashing Hercules' head on the wall, hopefully knocking some sense in that thick werewolf skull of his.
"And you didn't think about telling me? You waited a whole week before spilling the beans? And only because there have been rouges within your boundaries! I am involved in this as much as you are, you shit-head!"
Movement from the right caught my attention and I watched as Nora slowly walked towards me, hands raised in the air.
"Lara, please, calm down...we can.."
Before she could take another step I growled, snapping my jaw and showing her my teeth. Another move and she would bear the marks of my claws on her milky flesh.
I had given the normality of my life up for them; I had overstepped my boundaries in order to try to help; I had accepted to live in a pack, among the beings I despised the most, and this was the way I was been repaid. With them cutting the fragile thin silk filament that was my trust.
None was to come near me now. None.
Her mate stood up, the instinct of protecting his female spurring him in intervening. His eyes were shifting from their usual dark color to yellow, showing the surfacing of his wolf. He curled his upper lip, his fangs bared and sharp. I hissed at him. He wanted a fight? I was sore and injured, but I would never back down from a fight.
"Out."
The voice sliced through the heavy tension between me and the male, brushing my skin like a cold blade. Goosebumps erupted on my body. The iciness within those letters was sharp, even if the tone used was calm and collected. I found myself stiffen under the power of his command; I wasn't subjected to it, but the power it radiated was outstanding.
The other wolves in the room had my same reaction but, differently than me, they were obliged to obey, their will crumpled under the Alpha's command. Nora casted a last glance in my direction, before grabbing his mate's arm and exiting the room, their Beta following behind.

WerewolfI turned to reach his left ear, grazing his jaw with the tip of my nose. "Be careful what you wish for, Mate." I kissed him under his earlobe, my lips hot on his already scorching skin. He growled, low and deep, the sound reverberating through his...
