The Ride

As Kenny lays on the bed, he looks to the ceiling thinking about the school records he's broken, being name the top small forward in the state, and his full ride scholarship to Michigan. He just finished his last game of the season and his senior year is coming to a end,but he couldn't help shake the thoughts of the ride, Kenny quickly get out of his day dream and falls asleep."Wake up" Kenny aunts yell, time for school, it's been your on your last month and off to school you go, as she smiles and pinched his cheeks, she says your mother and father would be proud of you, and love the way you change into becoming a young man, now go on to school and let's finish the year time for bigger and better, she hugs him and walks away. As Kenny is headed out the house he makes sure his bag is pack with everything he needs being known from school an the streets he could almost do whatever he wanted, but he doesn't takes much advantage just cautious, because he is also a member of the "hooligans" a well known street gang that are known for their violence and crimes throughout the city of Detroit.Kenny is different he grew up in the neighborhood as a kid but when his parents died in his childhood he became a product of his environment, but he had best friend that was like a brother to him that always kept him in the right direction, and make sure Kenny never falls to deeply involved with the streets always telling Kenny, we all can't make out, some of us will never wear a suit until court cases that's just the way it is, but you man, you have a gift your built for that life you're talented, I don't think even Lebron James could hold you and you don't mind wear those high rising pants you got on they chuckle together as the ride down the street . Right here, Kenny ask big Jo yea man now gone head to school while I secure this bag, I bet not ever hear about you stealing lil bruh are nothing like that just hit me if you need me, alright bro Kenny says before he leaves be easy. As Kenny heads to school he told some of the fellas that he would ride to the other side of town to some of the other schools graduations he also had his eye on jade a beautiful girl from his rival gang neighborhood "hunchos" he couldn't wait to see her, he never cared about that he always finds a way to see her and graduation was the perfect day for him he couldn't wait till that day. School was letting out and Danny the point guard of the team stop Kenny asking what he has plan for graduation Kenny lies never allowing many from his school to know his ties with the gang, he says me and my aunt are going out to eat to celebrate what about you, " probably the same" Danny says probably head out of town get a different experience, but any way man I was just asking man knowing you probably headed to the NBA in two years and I'll be seeing you on the big screen, so here's to the big life. School for Kenny is coming to a close all that's left is graduation, which will be in a few hours as Kenny put on his cap and gown he looks in the mirror and sighs I just wish you guys was here said Kenny, then he heads down stairs to jump in his car and head to graduation. As graduation is starting their will be allot more people attending his school graduation being that it starts early that morning and Kenny is a promising basketball player the city came to support. As soon as the caps were thrown in the air Kenny tries to leave, but his aunt stops him for pictures and said kenny were are you running off to so fast, to catch jade graduation Kenny said don't want to be late. As Kenny arrived to the graduation with some of the hooligans  they were approached by the hunchos. Are y'all tripping, you must forgot about what side of town you own, and look at mr. fast break you must not want to see that so call promising career they claim you have so I suggest y'all step are be a stepping stone. Kenny couldn't miss the graduation so he makes the first move punching the leader big kill who is jade childhood boyfriend in the face and his friends join in as their fighting big kill pulls out a  gun which makes everybody run into the building splitting up, Kenny quickly tries to put the fight behind him to catch jade walk at cross the stage. As jade name is being call his phone rings it's was some of the hooligans with him being so focus he wasn't caring about to phone only seeing jade, and as soon as see walked across the stage he quickly heads to the bottom making sure to see her only to head downstairs and find his friend big jo laying on the ground with knife wounds. Kenny grabs him and holds him tight crying out loud Kenny calls for help, and then Kenny left with out seeing jade and heads to big jo house to see big jo little brother. As Kenny walks inside he said " were the straps" it's time to ride out on the boys they just left jo face down I know were they hang you riding are what. Let me call the rest of the guys so we can just throw a big ride surprise for big bruh..........to be continued.
