Prologue

Personally, I thought it was kind of strange seeing myself in the third person point of view. Because I'd be sitting on my bed, or just standing somewhere, and whoever was closest to me, I sometimes used my... abilities on them to where I could see what they were looking at, so I could see as well.

See, I've been blind since I was young. Not, like, six years old, but ten. I was ten years old whenever I was blinded by the stupid facility that's fading behind me. Everyone disappearing with it.

I was running blindly from the building, and I never thought I'd ever been free again. The wind was rushing through my too-long hair, and making this hospital dress I was wearing hit against my legs as I ran. It was so rough all the time, and it made my skin itch quite a lot, but there wasn't much I could do since this was my only item of clothes other than the boxers the workers had given me. The colors were faded, but not like they'd been stained and re-washed over the years, but only because it's been years since it had ever been washed.

As the tiles from the indoors switched to that of which I think is concrete, which is very rough and scratchy against my feet that had no callouses what-so-ever, I continued running and almost tumbled from a small step and then my feet were burning. Whatever it was, it was so scorching hot, I swear I could feel my feet melting as I ran, but that wasn't the case.

Screams of threats and presences of cold, angry human minds were soon left behind me as I continued running, my feet stepping onto something very soft beneath me. I yelped because of these soft blades that very weakly stabbed into my feet and swished across my ankles. Wherever I was, it was filled with life. I couldn't see, but I could feel everything around me.

I knew there were things like trees, bushes, flowers, grass, but I didn't know any names of these kinds of things. Like the kind of tree they were, the type of flower, etc. All I know is that I need to avoid running into them at all cost so I won't be caught by the end of the day.

At least... I thought it was day time...

I continued running and running, dodging trees left and right, twirling as I did so and actually not falling. I laughed and cried, the tears stinging some new wounds on my face, but I didn't care. I was free. I was badly beaten, but that didn't matter to anyone. At least, I hope not...

As I ran and ran, I felt animals skitter away from me, scared of my sudden presence and loud footsteps.

But then... my legs almost start giving out since it's been a while, and I feel a presence in the woods. Three people, actually. Their presence is mingled... like their thoughts are jumbled and their brains are messed up, and their presence is affecting my mind, making me extremely dizzy, so I try and not focus on them and focus on the actually awake mind.

My complete consciousness soon returns and I'm not nauseous anymore, so I go ahead and start making my way towards them. My feet gently pad the ground as I hide behind the trees and I hear their laughter ringing throughout the forest. Like they don't have a care in the world. Too bad, because I'm their problem now.

In the facility, I'd been locked down, and sometimes, I got out. I'd learned to fight that way, and even though I was significantly weak, I could fight pretty well for someone that's all skin and bones.

I quietly crept my way behind a tree, putting my hands onto the trunk very lightly and I was stunned at the smooth feeling of the covering. I didn't feel around the tree anymore, but my eyes had widened.

"No no no... But get this Jackie!" A slurred male's voice rang out. "He had actually just come out of nowhere and told us that we were his problem now! HE TOLD US THAT WE WERE HIS PROBLEM! Or it's the other way around..." And then they were laughing again. Two people were laughing, a male and female, and there was someone else across from them. I could feel the strength of something very big and hot in the middle of them, and the two who were laughing were facing away from me, I could feel that. There were quite large things behind each of them, with some kind of material flapping in the breeze very gently.

I stepped out from behind the tree, catching the very faint scent of something sweet and I couldn't help myself.

Something snapped beneath my feet and I felt myself freeze and tense as panic quickly spread out through the three humans in front of me. I felt them all stand-up and the female hide behind the drunken male, the other person going ahead and grabbing some kind of sharp weapon as it clanged against the ground when they picked it up.

"OH MY GOD! MARCUS! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THAT KID?!" Did I really still look like a kid? Is something wrong with how I look? Just to prove what the woman shouted, I reached over with two fingers to my left arm and felt all the cuts and ridges that cut deep into my skin. I didn't think they were so noticeable, but I guess I was wrong.

"Better get going somewhere else, kid. We don't need any more company." The male said. I could just feel a sense of pride take over his drunken mind with the female standing behind him, and she basically felt safe behind him. It's not like she was safe, I could just take them down. Except... The sober person in the back. They hadn't spoken yet, so I didn't know how old they were or which gender they were.

I tried to speak, but I gave out a little squeak. I shut my mouth, I probably looked really stupid, with my eyes wandering everywhere, scratches and pieces basically cut out of my skin, all over my arms, legs, and probably my face as well. The facility workers usually put me to sleep whenever they did anything too complicated though, so I couldn't ever see what they were doing.

I felt down my arm once more before finally making my decision and using my ability to look through the sober person's eyes. It took some effort though, but I did it, and soon enough I was looking at myself and the person looked down, and I realized that this person was a female. A teen-aged female.

"Well? Get on with it! Are you getting out of here or not?" The girl finally spoke and she sounded like she had one of those weird kind of accents. I wouldn't know what it was, but it sure wasn't something I was accustomed to. The girl seemed kind of scared whenever my eyes were focused on her, but she didn't seem phased.

Then I actually took the moment to look myself over. My light brown hair that looked like it'd be of something sweet was too long for a boy and it was down to my shoulders. My skin was pale because I hadn't been in the sunlight in around nine years. My eyes were fogged over and there were scars all over me. My eyes had scars through them, my cheeks were tear stained from earlier, and the hospital dress I had on was torn and basically... ruined.

And then I realized how much I actually looked like Him...

I soon got out of her eyes and shook my head. That took too much work only for a couple of seconds.

   "Neither..." I mumbled.

I brought one of my hands up to face the fire, hand wide open, and started swirling my hand around slowly at first, then faster by the seconds. The flames licked up into the air, swirling and growing out by the second.

That night... I had done something I hadn't done in years...

   And let me tell you,

It was one of the best feelings I'd ever had.

Okay, I'm sorry about deleting that other Creepypasta story, but it literally just wasn't working out, so I decided to delete it and start up a new one. Sorry about that!!! I hope you like this one, I'll try and make it kind of interesting, but it won't get into all the Creepypasta stuff really quickly.
