The planet beyond the stars

Chapter 1- A Moonless Planet

 “Maria  Jackson William , please come to the office  ‘’, a man with a stern says on the intercom, I slowly start my way to up the stairs, to the office where a bald, bleached, welcoming looking man awaits for me.

‘’Well, well, well isn’t It good to see you, isn’t it Maria well, let’s just get to the chase’. ’He slightly smiles and gives me an eerie wink. “Dude, I do not mean to be mean but, who the heck are you’’,

‘’I am detective Wally and you may not know me but I know you, as if you know our planet Venus is very usually cool and not very so warm but, lately our plant has very hot I mean as hot as the sun and we been having very much difficulty and’’, I  cut him off

‘’What? What does this have anything to do with me, I am just 13 what am I supposed to do.’’

‘’There is very much you can do we have a mission for you to complete’’.

‘’What, oh no I am so sorry I’m not fit for saving the world’’.

I walk out of the room and slam the door behind me and I don’t even look back, how they can possibly want me to complete this mission. Why me? Seriously, are they really serious? I walk down the awkwardly silent hallway rapidly as if a gunman was about to attack. I know that they are looking for me.

The next day, I hear a loud knock on my delicate door; I open it very slowly with caution. They found me. I RUN as fast as I can out to the back door and smash my leg scarcely on a nail.

‘’Maria, wouldn’t you consider to take the deal now’’. He squeezes my leg making more pain flow into my femur, making me force to say yes. ‘’Okay, okay, I will do but, under one condition’’. My mothers and detective Wally eyes meet.

‘’What’’?

“If I get paid then I will complete the mission’’.

“Whatever”. He murmurs

We walk slowly out of the house without a word spoken. We enter the car slowly and a drop of sweat start to fall down my face and my body starts to quiver when I look at his face. His face looks so scarred from maybe years of work, every time I look at him it makes my whole body fill with pain.

My eyes meets his as soon we look at each look at each other it seems that the silence is broken and his words hit me like a flash of thunder. ‘’Maria’’…… he says with an stern voice, ‘’ I know you are scared and we may of hit it off on the run track but, you have to trust me can you promise that, please’’.

I don’t know that if I can trust this guy but, I guess I am going to have to. So, I say ‘’I do not know if I can trust you detective Wally’’. First of all, you can trust me I am there for you and second you call me Henry’’. He flashes me his pearly white teeth, I smile back at him I feel like I can trust him now.

We get out of the car and run into a half white, half cream building with Christmas lights still hanging up, dangling in the air. Sometimes, I wish life was like that, that we can float in the air and never worry about anything. Uh, I wish life was that easy. We slowly walk into the bad painted building, and walk down the hallway to a strange room fill with papers and movement in every corner.

A woman with a velvet silky scarf and a gray uniform walks over to me and whispers something in the man with a white jacket in his ear, as they walk over to me. ‘’Hello, my name is Carey what is your name, well actually I already know your name isn’t nice to see Maria again, Bob’’. They both stand there and stare at me like I wasn’t human. They take me over to a laboratory to test out my blood sample. I am not exactly sure why they were doing it but, it sure hurt I have not had a shot in such a long time. Huh, it makes me wonder. As they stick a needle in my arm I jerk back into a brick wall, pain ran though my brain and veins.
