Dear Annalise,

The guys at the office are jackasses and I don't need that.

So you can tell how the friend making thing went.

That's not the total truth, though.

I met a guy at the office, his name's Derek, and he doesn't take shit from anyone.

It's great.

He makes me laugh too.

It's like we're in high school all over again.

Except you aren't here.

I also adopted a golden retriever.

She's three years old and full of piss and vinegar.

She sleeps with me all sprawled out on her back.

Today was better than yesterday.

They always say God gives you a second chance and it's called tomorrow.

He should revoke my chances because I don't use them wisely.

I use them to think about you which I shouldn't.

I use them to think about our life we could've have which I shouldn't.

I just can't help myself. You were my light and then you blew it out.

You were my path and then you stopped.

You were my plan and then you bailed.

It was always you.

Now I take walks with my dog a lot.

I take her to the dog park near my apartment which is about a mile and a half away.

She loves to bring home foreign objects back to me instead of the ball.

She plays with the other dogs and does the weirdest things.

She's a sweet girl though. Much like you.

Derek and I go out to bars sometimes too.

We have quite a few things in common and I'm glad we became friends.

I feel like I have someone in my corner other than my dog.

He told me I needed to get laid.

I chuckled at him and said he was right.

What, I can't help myself, I am a guy you know.

I told maybe someday and he said maybe someday my ass.

He told me he was going to find a girl for me to blow me like a trumpet player.

I near spit my beer out at that one.

Life has been pretty good so far being that it has been only a few weeks here.

I hope it stays that way.

When I get home, Daisy is sitting there waiting for me.

That's her name,

Daisy.

Just like the flowers you liked.

I wish you were here

Love,
Aaron
