"Everybody on the floor now!" I screamed, my body shaking with adrenaline. My eyes are wild and searching. Searching for the only thing I want; the cash register.
I kick the girl lying face down next to me, "You! Get up!" I scream. She doesn't move. "I said, get up!" I yell again, this time jamming the barrel of my gun into the back of her head. This made her shake with what I guessed was fear.
"She can't hear you! She's deaf!" whimpered a man in the corner.
I moved away from the woman and over to the young man, swiftly moving to point my gun at him.
"Open the register" I said calmly.
The man scrambled to his feet. He was small and thin, if he tried anything I could easily over power him. He ran to the register and started to enter the code.
"Move faster! I don't have all day!" I yelled, moving closer to the man so that my gun touched is temple. This motivated him and finally, the register was open.
I pushed the man harshly out of the way and swept my dark brown hair over my shoulder.
"Miranda! The bag." I yelled to my colleague.
She moved swiftly over all the shaking bodies on the floor to me and handed me the duffel bag we had brought along.
"This is our fastest one of the month, hon! You're doing pretty good..." she said with her southern drawl.
Miranda is like my mother. She's always taken care of me. It's not like I don't have a mom, it's just that mine happens to be a drunk. Miranda taught me how to defend myself and even though she's at least 20 years older than me, she's faster than our entire team.
I fill the bag quickly and then run over the people huddled on the floor. I give Miranda the bag and she huddles it to her side as she runs out the bag door to the van.
I go out the front door and run around the side of the building. I stop for a second under a street lamp, my tanned skin pale under the fluorescent lighting.
I hear the wailing of the police cars approach and decide it's time to go.
I turn to leave when I hear footsteps. They are loud, heavy and careless. At first guess, I think it's just some drunk who took a wrong turn on the way home.
But then I hear voices. Multiple voices, at least 3, and none of them are slurred. They are coming from all directions. I'm surrounded by men.
I feel something cool against my temple.
"Get lost sweetie?" says a low husky voice. It comes from my left
"Maybe we can help you get home." says another, this one from behind me.
"Oh please. She knows exactly where she's going. Don't you, amateur?" this ones in front of me.
I stand as still as possible.
"Oh, look, she's so scared she's started to shake." he's behind me.
There's only four of them. Shouldn't be too difficult.
"I'm sorry, but what did you call me again?" I asked firmly. "Did you really call me an amateur?"
"Well honey, you didn't even bother to cover your face! Plus, you looked right into the security camera, so the cops will know your pretty little face anywhere."
He was right, I hadn't covered my face, but I was not an amateur.
I quickly kicked out my leg, sending the man in front of me crashing to the ground with a loud thump. He's heavier than I expected.
I crouch low to the ground as I hear multiple bullets being fired, and I hear one meet a target with a low groan. Two down, two to go.
I scramble to my feet and thrust out my right arm, meeting a jaw. I then kick up my knee to hit him in the groin. I was right about his height.
Now there was one left, and he still had a gun.
I crouched low to the ground and listened carefully for any sounds that would identify him.
Nothing.
He must've run off.
I quietly slip out of the alley way and out to the back where Miranda was still waiting with the car.
"Almost thought I lost ya there, Dylan" she said.
"Just drive. I have to be back so I can study. I have a science test tomorrow that I'm probably going to fail." I said quietly.
