Darius
Everyone else was startled by Jaxyl suddenly bolting out of the room but Tez and I were not. He and I shared a knowing look.
The Dainewulf pack is her awful mate's pack.
"I guess I'll go check on my daughter," Alpha Don starts to get up.
"Um, actually I got it," I stop him and immediately get up out of my seat.
Jaxyl hasn't told her family about Bryce yet and I highly doubt she wants to say anything now. I walk down to the hall to the women's restroom. I knock before she yells out for me to come in.
"Are you okay?" I ask after finding her hovering over the toilet, spilling her guts.
"What does it look like?" she glares. "Just as I'm starting to get over him, I have to spend a week at his pack," she groans.
"Maybe it won't be so bad since your dad is there. He wouldn't dare treat you like that with your father around."
"Yes, he would," she corrects. "Bryce knows that I haven't told my folks about him but that doesn't matter."
"I really do not want to see him, D," she says in a saddened tone. "It's going to be torture."
"If he tries anything just show him how much you've gotten over him."
"I can't do that if I'm not over him yet," she sulks. "But..." she looks up at me with a creepy, cheeky smile. She has an idea.
"I have an idea."
"Tell me so you can stop looking like that."
"I can get Adarian to pretend to be my boyfriend. He'll be there and Bryce doesn't know him. It'll be perfect!"
"I don't think that's a good idea," I shake my head. "Bryce's wolf won't like that."
"Who gives a fuck?" she growls. "He won't care that much. Bryce is incredibly good at suppressing his wolf."
"How do you know Adarian is going to agree?"
"He doesn't have a choice. He owes me."
"Owes you for what?"
"What?" she pretends she didn't hear me. That's her way of telling me to mind my business. I roll my eyes, letting it go.
"Still, Jax, I don't think y--"
"Nope, I'm doing this!" she gets up from the floor to rinse her face.
"How are you going to explain that?"
"To who?"
"Your dad," I state as if the answer was obvious.
"You suck the fun out of everything!" she huffs. I shrugged; I've been hearing that my entire life.
"I guess I'll make something up then," she continues to wash her face.
After Jaxyl finished cleaning herself up, we walked back out into the hall just in time to see my dad harshly snatch Tez by his collar.
His own father stood near, shaking his head in embarrassment not even attempting to help his son.
What has the idiot done?
"I just don't get it," Tez frowns. "I don't think what I said was bad at all."
"Baby, telling my dad that I'm going to be in your bed anyway to try and convince him to let me move in with you is not okay," Mandy tells him.
