"Welcome home, Lucy! How was school?" a tall, thin woman with long, silky brunette hair said to her daughter who was just walking into the door. "It was good! Tomorrow is Vivian's birthday, so I'm going to make her a drawing!" the young girl replied. She had the same locks as her mother, long and silky with the autumn brunette. She wore a black dress with a white collar, which didn't seem to fit her personality all too well. She was a bright and bubbly girl who enjoyed doodling and exploring her backyard. The dress said quite the opposite, but she enjoyed wearing it, nonetheless.
Walking to her room, Lucy glanced out of the short window in the corridor. She spotted a squirrel scurrying across the green grass. She smiled slightly looking at the beautiful forest and cloudless sky. She continued to her bedroom and once she had gotten inside, she set her books down and sat at her desk. Picking up a pencil, Lucy began to sketch a picture for Vivian.
Lucy looked down at the paper, satisfied with the finishing piece. "Lucy, it's time for supper! Don't forget to clean your hands, too." She heard her mother call from the kitchen. Setting her drawing utensil down, she walked to the dinner table.
Lucy entered the familiar room, her nose instantly flooding with the scent of freshly baked bread and sweet green beans. Her mother was an amazing cook, and everyone who had come over to her house would agree. She grabbed two plates, forks and glasses and set them down onto the placemats in front of both wooden chairs she and her mother sat in. She sat in front of her mother who had already sat down and placed the food in the middle. Lucy served herself and talked about her day with a smile.
