Heart racing,
Muscle tensing,
Pain coursing through
From my tiny slightly crooked pinkie toe
To every little teal and brown strand of hair.
That’s how my body reacts
To your disappointment.
I rush so fast
That my head is a whiplash.
My feet jam into the wall,
When I miss the door.
My tears fight to break loose
From their grayish blue orbs.
My face flushes
And my lip trembles.
That’s how my body reacts
To your anger.
When eating dinner
My throat tightens
My tongue dries
And the once delicious pork chop
Tastes like cardboard.
And my head bows,
My hair covers my crimson face.
That’s how my body reacts
To the words “You’re Fat”
Heart beating so fast
My chest contracts in an unorganized fashion.
Tears burn down my rosy red cheeks.
My eyes sting from the makeup
And I believe I deserve the pain.
