Well, that was a lovely explanation. This guy is so vague.
What are you talking about? He's not vague. He literally just retold your life story.
I've stopped trying to push my wolf away now, she's part of me, so why shy away from her?
I follow Alec to another room. It looks nothing like the plain, neutral room I was in before, it's walls are turquoise blue. The furniture is white and there is a full length mirror in the corner.
"This is your room," Alec says. I walk to the bed and fall onto my back. This is amazing!
"Thank you," I sigh, this bed is so soft.
"You're welcome. There are clothes in the closet and there is a bathroom through that door there, you should get changed, then we can go see what Jason was fussing about," he walks back to the door, "I will wait outside," and with that, he walks outside, closing the door behind him.
I sit up and wonder over to the closet, I pull the giant double doors open and gasp. The wardrobe is gigantic, the two opposite walls are full of hanging clothes, the third back wall is packed full with shoes of every type and right smack bam in the middle of the room is two couches back-to-back covered with fluffy pillows. Wow, this is way more than I have ever had, even when my mum was alive.
I quickly grab a black tank top and red skinny jeans, I chuck on some black studded converse and tie my hair into a pony tail. Looking in the mirror, I check my appearance, before opening the door to join Alec in the corridor.
"I see you found the clothes," he says stupidly, giving me a once over.
How could we not find the clothes? My wolf comments randomly. She seems to do that a lot.
"Come on, let's go see what, Jason wants," he says in a soothing voice and tries to take my hand. I want to take his in mine but something stops me. I pull away quickly so he just grabs my wrist and pulls me down the hall.
This place is huge. All the wolves must live here or something. We walk out to a big room where, Jason is standing. He is very tall. At least 6.1. He has messy urban hair with chocolate brown eyes. He seems very prepared. He has camo pants with a blue top and a backpack attached to him, tightly. The bag looks very full. I don't think he can fit anything else in there.
"Jason. What's up?" Alec asks.
"Duh, the roof," he responds pointing up as Alec gave him a sarcastic look, "fine, we found them. They are heading this way. They will be here by tomorrow at latest," He says taking out a map. It's a map of the city and country side. He points to the forest edge.
"Wait, found who?" I ask.
"Your brother and your father," Alec answers looking down to me.
"But, if they are at the edge of the forest a day away from here, then how long did it take you to get here? Wouldn't it take you a day? I know I was asleep for a long time but wouldn't they have followed you?" I wonder.
"No they can't keep up. We are faster then we look," Jason quotes.
"Think of fast, and then times that by ten. Wolves can run faster than you think," Alec smiles, nudging me.
"Also there is another thing, it's a lunar eclipse tonight," Jason sighs.
"What happens when there is a lunar eclipse?" I ask.
"I'll tell you later. For now we have to prepare for your father and brother," Alec finishes walking past me and back down the hall as I follow with Jason beside me.
"So, Jason. What is in that thing anyway?" I gesture to the backpack.
"Basically my whole life. Sketches, designs, equipment..." He continues on.
"Why do you have it all?"
"I'm like the tinkerer in this house. I design all the awesome inventions and stuff if I do say so myself," He prides.
"More like in this mansion," I mutter.
Alec continues down the hallway banging on each door and repeatedly yelling 'meeting' over and over again. The doors open and a different face looks out each time. About the seventh door down a light brown haired girl with a braid at the back looks out as Jason runs over. He grabbs her by the waist and swings her around while I just stand here awkwardly.
"Where have you been?" She asks laughing.
"Tell you at the meeting. Now come on, milady. Lots to tell," he says grabbing her hand and dragging her down the hall.
I hurry along behind trying to keep up. I reach the end of the hall where the crowd of fifteen or so people now in front of me take a left. Following, I enter a huge room with chairs. Everyone takes a seat and Alec takes my wrist, dragging me over to one. I was worried about finding a seat because it would be awkward sitting next to someone I don't know. Alec sits me down next to Jason and that other girl as he walks to the front.
"Alright everyone. You all know we are still hunting, Harper's father and brother. We have currently located them on the edge of the forest clearing. They will reach here by tomorrow sunset at the latest. We all need to prepare for their arrival. So...." Alec goes on telling each group of people what they need to do. I nudged Jason to ask him a few questions.
"Who is that?" I ask gesturing to the guy sitting at the front corner of the room. He had dark hair like Alec and soft blue eyes.
"That's Alec's father, Aaron, alpha in other words. Alec is next in line," he answers.
"So that's why he is in charge of the speech now then?"
"Yeah. Oh this is Cristina by the way," he says pointing to the girl next to her. "She is my mate as you are Alec's," he says pointing to her.
"I still don't understand how this works?" I wonder.
"Well, humans find love by simply meeting someone and then falling in love slowly. As for us. We have a sense where all the guys, just know. We are born to know exactly who our other is. Then when we meet them we usually tell them and then we fall in love slowly like the humans. Kind of like dating if that makes it easier for you. Humans ask the girls out, but when we do it, it means for life," he answers, as Cristina takes hold of his hand and smiles up to him.
"For, for life?" I mutter, before I faint, falling off my chair. I see Jason and Cristina hover over me. My eyes close as I hear them say my name.
