I laid in bed staring at the ceiling, as the events of three days prior kept resurfacing and plaguing my good night sleep. Three days ago there was a civil war among classmates and friends. Three days ago an epic showdown between snake and demon took place. Three days ago the decision to spare the life of a monster was made. Three days, and yet...no definitive solution was made.
I chewed on my lip in contemplation. No leads as of yet. Well, that would be a lie. There was a tip about a international space port, but the teachers wanted to find out if there was at least one safer option. As The future weighted in my mind, my phone skidded across the table as it vibrated. My mood instantly brightened at the notification on the device.
> Hiya everybody~
> Hello everyone
> Hey, what's up?
> Nothing much. What about you guys?
> Hi guys. Did I miss anything?
A small smile crept onto my face at the chat as I replied.
> Naw, nothing much.
> Well well well. Look who arrived
> The country bumpkin has graced us with their presence
> Be nice.
> Lay off them man!
> It's ok guys.
I shook my head but I couldn't tell weather it was from exhaustion or disappointment.
> Actually it's kinda comforting knowing some asshats never change
> That's mean
> Ha! Serves you right for picking on them!
> I get the feeling something's wrong. Are you ok?
My thumbs hovered over the keyboard. I chewed my lip in thought. Choosing my next words carefully, I hesitantly typed my response.
> To be honest, no
> Uh-oh. Trouble in paradise?
> Sorta
> It's ok you can tell us anything.
I gave a scoff. If only I could.
> It's just some trouble at school.
> Is it the A class again?
> Seriously! I'm this close to coming over there and kicking their butts myself!
> I don't think that's a good idea...
Suddenly a private chat pops up, catching my eye. My lips go in a firm line; an unreadable frown sets itself on my face.
>Is there something wrong?~
>c'mon!
>you can tell me anything~
My jaw tensed, resisting the urge to throw my phone at a wall in substitution of his face.
>Mind your own you filthy parasite; and keep that curiosity of yours in check. We all know full well what it did to the cat.
>But satisfaction brought it back!~ ;)
I growled in irritation. I closed my eyes, took a breath, and let out a tired, disgruntled sigh. This is what he wanted. This man was obsessed with humans, or more specifically, their reactions. His silver tongue was his blade; precise and sharp. I'd be damned if I was gonna waste my second blade on the likes of him!
Not about to dignify him with a response, I chose to exit from the private chat. However, a text bubble prevented me from doing so.
>A parasite! Me! Σ(゚Д゚)
>Why, I am nothing more than a humble servant to her majesty!~
I rolled my eyes, all but annoyed with him already. But, I hesitated. My thumb hovered over the exit icon, but I couldn't will myself to press it. We've had no leads on the experiments done on Koro-sensei, let alone a cure. He was a literal ticking time bomb and none of us knew how to stop it. But maybe, this man did. If anyone could gather the information it was him.
My eyes widen and I shook my head aggressively. No! No, I couldn't possibly do that to them! I wouldn't dare expose my class to those people and that life. Sure not everyone there was a bad egg, but that didn't mean being associated with them didn't come with some sorta danger. Besides, I left that city for a reason. I left that life for a reason! I won't go back! I can't go back! And yet...
I bit my lip and furrowed my brows at my inner turmoil. After a moment I closed my eyes; my mind had been made up.
>A servant huh?
>well then you wouldn't mind doing me a favor.
>hmm?~
