CHAPTER ONE.
Your deep brown, warm eyes caught mine, you smiled, I smiled. I stood at the rounded table covered in napkins and china plates. It seated ten people, you walked over and pulled my seat out for me, like a gentleman. I sat, you sat. Your family came to join us at the table, so did mine. Your foot hit mine under the table, I blushed, you blushed. I stared up at you while you picked at your salad, you looked so handsome in a suit. Your dark brown hair was messy, but beautiful messy. Your big shiny brown eyes looked up and you smirked. Was this love? Was it possible to love you so instantly, like it was meant to be?
A band began to play, they were an unknown band but great, I listened and closed my eyes, music was my passion, I had a love for it no one could understand, no one but you. While my eyes were closed listening to the beautiful melody that flowed softly through my mind, I looked up, you were gone. I sat there wondering my eyes across the room, it was filled with drunk rich woman hanging out of drunk rich men, but I could not find you, suddenly I heard you breath on my neck, I shivered. The band began to play a beautiful song, filled with love, passion and beauty "May I have this dance?" you asked, you pulled my hand, I stood there speechless,
"Yes" I answered.
Then I woke up.
"Did you hear me Annie?" My mother stood there with her hands on her hips, "I asked, did you hear me?" she repeated, I stood there in a complete daydream (as I usually was) "I asked you did you see my handbag?"
"oh.. no, sorry" I answered, she let out a long breath like I had exhausted her.
"All I asked was a simple question and shes in a daydream" she said as she muttered off to look for her new handbag she bought last week, she treated it like her baby.
"These stupid drivers, IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE, GET OFF THE ROAD" my mother shouted across to the man in the car, the man simply ignored her.
"People should be more respectful" she said as she pressed her foot harder on the accelerator,
"Mum, you're going too fast, please slow down" I raised my voice so she could hear me over the rumbling of the car engine,
"Stop, I know what i'm doing" She replied,
"You're going to get us killed" I said as I held onto my seat belt, She glanced at me, she saw how scared I was,
"Fine" she replied.
CHAPTER TWO.
When we arrived at my Dad's he greeted me with a hug and kiss, "Hey dad" I said before I ran into the house to greet his two dogs, Sandy and Lucy, Sandy was a beautiful golden retriever, her hair was always so beautifully groomed, and Lucy was a 'glab' a mix between a golden retriever and a golden labrador, she was very adorable, she was still a pup so I had great fun playing with her.
"How was your week?" my dad asked as he entered the room after me, My mum followed behind but didn't speak.
"It was good, and yours?" I replied, still petting Sandy, who collapsed on the floor with the joy of good company.
"It was good, nothing exciting happened, except I did get a new job!" dad said in a high pitched voice,
"oh really? thats great, doing what?" I answered,
"Well i'll be building a new school.. but it's not around this area" he said, looking at mum, "Its in England" I looked up from petting Sandy, she nudged me for more attention.
"What?" I said looking quite confused, did he expect me to move? Ireland was my home, the place I grew up, the place I would spend my life, NOT England.
"Well I was hoping we, meaning you and me, could move there for a while and see how you like it" He said, speaking very fast.
Mum and dad didn't live together, they separted when I was five, I mostly stay with my dad, but when i'm with mum, its a nightmare. I smirked a bit to see if he was joking, like his usual tricks, but no, he stood there very still.
"Dad, are you serious? There is no way in hell i'm going to England" I said, I noticed my voice getting louder, I really didn't want to start an argument, but it seems this was going to happen anyway.
"Please don't get mad sweetheart, it could be fun, visting the palaces, seeing the city and- " he stopped there, I stared waiting for him to finish, "well, and meeting my new fiance" He said.
"What did you just say?" I asked as I walked closer to him
"Told you she'd take it well" My mum said giggling in the corner.
"Mum, please tell dad i'm not going anywhere" I said as I rushed past him and into the arms of my mother.
"Sorry honey but I want to get another apartment, and it's not big enough for two people"
I looked at both of them and ran to my room. We left for England the next day.
"Are you packed?" I heard my dad shouting from downstairs,
I was still half asleep, "shit" I thought, I wasn't packed and we left in twenty minutes, I quickly searched through some clothes and threw them into my suitcase, got dressed, did my make up and hair, then we left.
CHAPTER THREE.
I could see the beautiful green trees and fields, where my dad and I used to hike when I was younger, they looked so beautiful from the plane, but they looked even more beautiful, because I knew I wouldn't see them again, or not for a long while.
"How much longer is this going to take?" I asked my dad, rolling my eyes.
"Hmm, I'd say maybe another thirty minutes, can you wait that long?" He asked smirking.
Thirty minutes passed and we started getting off the plane, It was cold and the air was filled with wet cold breezes, My skirt blew up in the air a few times while I was carrying my suitcase. It was then, I felt your soft warm touch on my shoulder, you took my suitcase and carried it into the aiport for me. I looked behind to catch a glimpse of you carrying my suitcase like a gentleman.
"Honey, This is Joe, your step-brother to be!" Dad said as he pulled Joe over by his shoulder to greet me.
"Thanks for taking my suitcase Joe" I said smiling. "No problem" He replied.
'UGH' I thought, a step brother? Was he serious? I folded my arms and stayed quiet the whole way 'home'.
"So Annie, enjoying England so far?" Dad's fiance Nicole asked me. I had my earphones in, but I knew she asked me a question. I saw Dad give her look that told her everything she needed to know. I did NOT want to be here. Joe looked at me and giggled. I gazzed out the window... It looked just like Ireland.
"We're here!" Nicole sang as we parked in the driveway of a huge house. "This is where you live?.." I asked as i untangled my earphones and put them away in my bag. "Yes, do you like it? Dont worry about the overgrown plants, the gardener is coming today" She said pulling her sunglasses to her head and grabbing her Luis Vuitton handbag and showing off her sparkliing DKNY watch hanging on her skinny wrist. 'Who are these people?' I thought, staring with my mouth open, This house was huge. "Hey" a voice said behind me, I quickley turned to find Joe looking at me with his hands in his pockets, "Hey" I replied, walking to the garden. "Got the impression in the car that you're not too happy to be here" He said and smirked, "You could say that" I said, dismissing our conversation. "I'm gonna go unpack" I said to Joe hoping he'd leave me alone, "Need any help?" he offered, "No thanks" I said as i walked up the giant staircase to my room, It was huge.. and pink. The chest of drawers was big enough to hold 5 bodies and the wardrobe was so elegant, and the bed.. wow.. It was a king sized bed, At home I usually slept on the couch or in a room big enough to fit just me. I started unpacking, fitting into the new lifestyle I'd now be living for a while. Joe stood at the door of my room, I didn't notice until he jumped on my bed. I started taking my clothes out of my suitcase
