Chapter 8 - The Returners

It had taken a long time for Harry to get over the death of Sirius Black. His godfather, mentor and friend had done a great deal for Harry and meant a lot to him - as one of the few father figures in his life and the purchaser of Harry's broomstick, a firebolt which is the best broomstick that you can get. So, to suddenly have Sirius standing behind him alongside Remus Lupin, Tonks, Dumbledore, Fred Weasley and James and Lily Potter was, suffice to say, quite a shock.

All of the Weasley's had suffered a huge blow with the death of Fred. He had been a son, a brother, a twin, a great friend and prankster. Losing a brother and a son was extremely hard to deal with but no one had grieved as much as George, Fred's twin. Ever since Fred had died George had always felt that there was a part of him that was missing. And it made George the happiest man alive to have his twin brother standing before him. 

After getting over the initial shock of the return everyone was smiling and hugging one another. For some it was seeing friends that they hadn't seen in over 20 years such as the reunion of Molly and Arthur Weasley and James and Lily Potter. 

"James, Lily, I can't believe that you're here!" Cried Molly who was crying tears of joy and hugging all who had returned. 

Lily, who was all smiles for seeing her friends again replied, "It's so good to see you again Molly, Arthur." 

"Yeah, it's great to see you mate." James added.

"I've missed you James, Lily."

George and Fred, the twins, didn't need words to express their sheer delight at seeing one another; just a long embrace, tears of joy and the feeling of finally being complete again after so long apart.

Harry flung himself at Sirius with a smile on his face as wide as a mile. Words were not needed at the reunion between godfather and godson. After greeting Sirius, Harry went to see Remus and Tonks whilst he was still grinning. After a long embrace he handed them their son, Teddy, and the looks of joy on their faces made it evident that they were delighted to see their son again. 

Sirius then dragged Harry over to where his parents were standing and proceeded to leave them to their own devices with the parting words of: "I think you know who these two are Harry."

Harry looked up to see a man with his features replicated, excluding his eyes which were deep brown instead of Harry's piercing green eyes. Standing next to this man was a beautiful red-head who had exact copies of Harry's striking green eyes. 

His parents were standing before him.

A huge grin spread across his face. "Mum? Dad?"

"Harry," Lily replied with a sigh, "we're so sorry we couldn't be there for you." 

"It's OK. You saved my life. Even if I had to live with Petunia and Vernon for 11 years." 

"No!" Lily gasped, "Not Petunia! She's awful!"

"I know she's awful and I only saw her twice!"

"Yes, but it made Hogwarts all the better."

"Hogwarts, I have such fond memories. Did you ever find our map?"

"Yes, Fred and George gave it to me in 3rd year."

"Moony, Padfoot, did you hear that Harry found our map?"

"Oh yes Prongs, I also too it off him in his third year when I was teachi..."

"No way! You're the MARAUDERS! But you never told us!" George exclaimed, having caught the gist of the conversation and had the revelation that James, Sirius and Remus were the original marauders. 

"Yes Georgie I found out this way too. But they are the original marauders and they can pull some of the most amazing pranks."

"That's so cool Freddie!"

Whilst Tonks, Remus, Sirius, James and Lily were fussing over Teddy Lupin, Harry took this opportunity to speak to Dumbledore. Casting his eye over the scene in front of him, Harry spotted Dumbledore at the edge of the group watching the scene before him.

"Hello sir." Harry spoke as he approached Dumbledore

"Ah, hello Harry. It's nice to see the families reunited." He replied, snapping out of his gaze over the others to turn and look at Harry.

Harry agreed with Dumbledore. It put a smile on his face to see how ecstatic Remus and Tonks were to see their son again and how delighted the Weasley family was to have a Fred with them once more. When Fred was gone, George took it the worst out of all of them, he and Fred were so close and it looked wrong to see George without Fred, they were a duo, not meant to be separated.

"Yes sir." Harry spoke after musing for a few seconds. He then paused while he thought for a second. "I've missed you. It's been strange without you, sir."

"Well I'm glad to be back." Was Dumbledore's only comment.

It was half an hour later when Hermione thought that they should go to McGonagall and tell her what happened and then a trip to the Ministry would probably take place. But even the Fred and George had their mouths pulled up in huge grins with their arms wrapped around each other, Remus and Tonks were gripping onto Teddy with tenacious grips and Harry was still surrounded by his parents and Sirius. 

The group somewhat reluctantly agreed to Hermione's suggestion and so the troop of them marched like soldiers up to the headmistress' office. 

Hermione muttered the password and the group wondered up the stairs, knocked on the door and entered the office. 

McGonagall looked up from the papers that she was reading, her eyes instantly widened, her mouth dropped open and she stayed in that state of paralysis until James and Sirius simultaneously shouted "Minnie!"

At this she returned to her senses, closed her mouth and a smile of pure joy made an appearance upon her face. Chuckling quietly she shook her head slowly but did not tell the two men off.

"Well," she started, "I guess th prophecy did come true after all. I see you two are still up to your usual antics . I can only hope that Harry's kids are somewhat better than you two, given their names."

Cries of "Wait you have kids?" And "What are their names?" Chorused through the roomfrom the returners and Harry and Ginny's cheeks flushed a light pink. 

"Yeah..." Harry muttered, "we have triplet boy named James Albus Potter, Sirius Alastor Potter and Remus Frederick Potter and a girl named Lily Luna Potter."

James, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Fred and even Dumbledore burst out laughing at this. "Now we have the real mini-marauders!" James shouted.

"Sirius Alastor Potter is going to be just like me!" Sirius stated.

"Well I guess I have to keep one of them in line." Remus commented. 

After a while the group of them flooed to the ministry to await the forthcoming questioning that they knew was to come.

A/N - this took so long to write but it's done! Yay! Expect weeklyish updated because of school etc.

Yeah so I'm probably at some point going to do a time skip to when the marauders are in school and then switch between different peoples lives but there will be still at least a few chapters before that 

I don't really have anything else say really
