"Lunar come on! We're gonna be late!" Lee called, grabbing her purse."Mommy! I need help putting on my dress." called her child. "Coming baby." Lee set her purse down and walked up the stairs. Lee went into her daughter's room and saw her sitting on the floor, in a princess dress. "Lunar, baby, what are you wearing?" "Daddy told me to dress in pink because I think the new baby is gonna be a girl. But now I don't think's gonna be a girl, I think it's gonna be a puppy, so I put on my Snow White dress." Lee laughed and picked her daughter up off of the floor. "Well, I hate to break it to you, but the new baby is not a puppy so Snow White is out of the question. Now tell me, do you want a brother or a sister?" "A puppy!" cried Lunar. "Lunar." said Lee in a tone that made Lunar suddenly decide that she was going to cooperate with her mother. "A sister." she said.Lee opened the closet doors and found a cute pink dress for her daughter to wear. "Can we go now?" asked Lee. "Yes mommy."
The 2 got in the car and as Lee drove off, she looked the time and realized they were running 10 minutes late, which is far too late for Le's liking. She called Noah, "Hey Lee. When are you gonna pick me up?" "Drive yourself. I had to get Lunar out of a princess dress and into normal clothes so we could go." "Really?!" Noah said with a slight laugh. "Yes Noah, it's called the life of a parent. You would learn this life if you would shut up and commit already. Harper ain't getting any younger ya know.""Whatever weirdo. I'll see you there." Lee hung up and put on Lunar's favorite band, Why Don't We. The 2 girls began to sing along to the song and by the chorus they were screaming "I ONLY SAY IT CAUSE I REALLY MEAN IT. I A'INT AFRAID OF HOW YOU GOT ME FEELING. SKY'S SO CLEAR WHEN YOUR THE VIEW, ANYWHERE I GO I'M TAKING YOU!" Lee laughed because she new Joe opposed Lee forcing her "trashy boy band music".
When Lee and Lunar finally arrived at the venue, most people had already gotten there, including Noah. Lee grabbed Lunar's hand as they walked in. When she opened the door, she was flooded with all of her friends and family dressed in pink or blue. Joe ran up to her and pulled her through the crowd of people. Ladies and gentlemen, our guests of honor have arrived!" Everyone start clapping and cheering for Lee. Lee laughed and went into the sea of people. Lot's of people told her hello and congratulations. While talking with Addison, Regan, and Harper, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. "Hey babe." Finn said kissing her on the cheek. "We need to get back up there, they are about to start party games." "I'll talk to you guys later I guess." Lee said as Finn dragged her away. "Lot's of pink out there." Finn said as they were walking back to the little stage area. "Including you. You look like Finny from A Separate Peace." Finn playfully punched her arm. "I did always think that Brinker was way cuter then he was." Finn rolled his eyes as they met Joe onstage.
They played about 6 random party games that Joe had found online. Finally the time came to pass it over to Lee for the gender reveal. "Alright, before I start, I just want thank all of you guys fro coming today. And also thanks for wearing pink or blue, I thought it was stupid and that no one was gonna do it but Joe put it on the invite and it stuck so thanks for that. Now, the comment you have all been waiting for, is it a boy or a girl. We made Joe both order and pick up the cake so that we would be completely clueless." Lee took a deep breath, "You ready for this Finn." "Yup. Let's do this!"
The 2 walked over to the cake and grabbed the cake cutter. They sliced through the cake and the room went silent. Lee and Finn smiled and held up the slice of cake. "IT'S A BOY!!" Everyone got so happy and then the room was in shock. Finn dropped down on one knee and pulled out a tiny box. Lee's smiled faded as she saw everyone clasp their hands on their mouths. She turned to her right and saw Finn and she screamed.
"Lee Violet Keery. I have been in love with you ever since we met at the table read of Stranger Things. And I know that was 8 years ago but believe me, there has not been a day that went by that I didn't think about you. I never thought that I would meet someone like you. And now that I have, my life has gotten so much better. So what do you say Lee.Will you be the Eleven to my Mike?" Lee whipped tears off of her face. "Yes, of course I will!" Finn put the ring on Lee's finger and they kissed. There was a roar of applause. Lunar ran up on stag and hugged her mom.
That night, Lee drove Lunar and Hannah Rose back to Lee's house and they watched their favorite movie, Legally Blonde. Hannah was asleep by the end and Lunar wasn't far from it. Lee carried her little girl up stairs and helped her put on her pjs. Lunar climbed into her bed and Lee read her 3 stories. after the third book Lunar asked, "Are you and Daddy gonna live hapily ever after?" Lee smiled a big smile, "Yes baby. We are." "Can you sing me the rainbow song please Mommy?" "Yes baby." Lee sat down in the glider by Lunar's bed and sang Rainbow Connection until her daughter fell asleep. She kissed her forehead. "Good night princess."
Lee took a shower and got ready for bed. She went downstairs to turn off the lights and found herself carrying her very leggy sister up the stairs to her guest room. She let out a sigh and went down stairs to complete her original task. "Good it's hard to climb stair when you're pregnant." Lee said to no one in particular. As she walked into her room she passed her golden record and paused to look at it. She remembered writing that whole EP when she was pregnant the first time. "God, that was my best work. Over 13 million copies sold. And it was for the best thing I have ever created, Lunar."
