Complications in filming and a tight schedule meant that Tom had seen his infant son far too few times to be proud of. (Y/N), the love of his life, made sure to always keep him updated whenever little Jack did something funny, cute, or brand new. Because of the lack of time together, Tom always felt guilty as it has become tradition for him to miss his child's firsts. (Y/N) had sent plethoras of videos and pictures of Jack but Tom always felt like he was missing the first months of his baby's life.
A sad phone call had been what sent (y/n) to plan a surprise for Tom. The call had begun as usual. The regular "how was your day?" and "how is Jack?" leading into a spiral of truth.
"I miss you both terribly and I feel like a bad husband and father. I hate being away for so long and everyday that passes is hell. I love you both. I want to be there for both of you..."
The call had ended in heavy tears, and after hanging up (y/n) immediately checked Tom's calendar that hung in the office of her home and mapped out when and where the closest tour date was. When (y/n) saw that it was in a week but still an entire plane ride away she acted fast. (Y/N) actually got a decent nights sleep that night.
Exactly a week later she found herself on the outside of the room her husband was in doing an interview. She couldn't stop smiling at the fact that he had no idea she was feet away and holding his baby boy.
(Y/N) listened as Tom answered the interviewers questions with a tone that told her how tired he was. She anxiously waited until a producer told her to enter and on his mark she twisted the handle with one hand and almost cried at the sight of Tom's face.
Tom was confused as his interview was interrupted by a rude door opening, but when he turned his head he couldn't believe it. He was in disbelief. He wasn't supposed to be able to see his two favorite people for another month and now they stood right in front of him.
"No you did not-" he looked away from the two of them when he realized that there was a big chance he would start crying right then and there.

"And who are these surprise guests?" The interviewer asks, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the curly haired baby boy in (y/n)'s hands.
"This is my beautiful wife, (y/n)," he bragged and grabbed (y/n)'s hand, pulling her to sit on his lap. Jack was cuddled snugly into his mother's chest. Tom wrapped his arms around and hugged the both of them tightly. He sighed in bliss, forgetting completely about the interview for a second, "and this is our perfect son, Jack Holland."
