Getting Over the Gate

I arrived at the school. It was around 10 a.m. when I got there because I got lost again. The gates were closed. My body was overflowing with curiosity so I really wanted to find my way in. Maybe I could find a way around the back. I'm not strong at all so I wouldn't be able to climb the fence either way. The school was surrounded by a forest and the building was old, so maybe there would be another entrance somewhere.

I searched around the whole school, even through a hole that I found on the side of the building that ended up leading back outside, but found nothing. I guess if I was really committed I would have to climb the gate, which I was. I already spend time on this, so it was better that I find my way in rather than having wasted my time. It would be best to climb over the gate behind the school, away from possible cameras and other Yōkai, but it was way too high. I headed back to the front. The front gate was the shortest possible spot over the gate, but it was also the most open. My determination and curiosity got the best of me as I started climbing over the gate. Each bar was so far and I was so short that it was a harder struggle each time I reached for the next one, and I had only gotten a few feet off the ground. The gate rattled as I scrambled my way up.

Almost there, I thought.

I grabbed the top of the gate and used my remaining strength to pull myself over.

"Finally! That took some time..., " I said proudly.

It was then that I realized that my hand had slipped off the gate when I tossed myself over. I started to fall and landed straight on my face.

"Ow ow ow ow," I stammered while clutching my face. Blood dripped on the ground and I noticed that my nose was bleeding. I hadn't brought a cloth with me like I sometimes do for things like this. I got up and put my hand on my chin in a cup shape. At least it wouldn't drip on the floor. Usually, Yōkai don't bleed or even have blood because they're spirits, but I was originally human and became a Yōkai through a curse, so that's why I still have blood.

I look at the school and could faintly see through the window other silhouettes. It seems that classes were going on right now. Maybe with the other Yōkai distracted, I could sneak around the school.

"Hm... maybe I shouldn't do this. I mean.. what would happen if I got caught?" I murmured. I thought for a bit, then realized again that my nose was still pouring blood and I quietly but also quickly walked through the doors of the school.
