'Y/N you better pass all your exams or else me and your dad will not pay for you tuition anyomore.'
'Y/N, these are supposed to be passed tomorrow. You know how big part of your grade this essay it.'
'Y/N, can you dod this for me? Meand my family are going out for a dinner tonight and this is due the day after tomorrow. You're the best!'
"Y/N this, and Y/N that. Why do you have to grow being a push over?" Y/N mumbled to herself in frustration as she wrote furiously her classmate's notebook.
She sat by one of the benches at the empty benches in front of Han River with the sound of cool breeze dancing around making the leaves rustle and the watwr flow. Her chestnut hair tied in a messy bun on her head as she bit the end of her pen, trying to think of the next words to write. Y/N growled in stress turning to look at the pile of books to be studied and essays to be done stacked inside her bag. She leaned her head on her knees with her palms rubbing against her eyes.
"Why did I even agree on doing other's essay! I'm so stupid, gosh!" The strands of her hair flew in different directions while she remained huddled on her own. Call her crazy if you want to but she didn't care at the moment.
All her life she has been told what to do and forced to do what she didn't want to do. Everyone expects her to be that smart girl that alwats gets the highest grades and good answers, but behind those success, what held her inspire (more like tortured) was the constant threat of her parents that they'd be sending her on her own if she even fails one of those exams. In result, she studied day and nighr without fun. She only existed in other's eyes when they needed answered and only received love when she gives what others wanted. But she never had the type of love she wanted.
The only thing she wished for was some peace and happiness and at the age of 18, it seems like she hadn't had any time of fun in her life. Nver had real friend. Never had the love she wanted. Oh, how she just hoped it would all end.
Y/N felt a migrane coming up and grumbled in dispair. She hated everything, because it appears that everything hates her as well. The gloomy and cold day matched her feelings all throughout her whole 18 years of living. As she enjoyed her solitude, a small and cute laughed disturbed her train of thoghts. When she raised her head, she was slightly blinded by the sudden brightness but, she didn't know which from. Was it from the bright lights of clouds reflecting the sun or was it because of the blinding smile the 6-years-old boy directed at her.
'Probably both' She thought.
She raised her eyebrows questionably at the grinning boy.
"What you laughing at kid?" She asked in a deep tone. In her state of looks, mosy children must've fled by now or tease her by her looks. But not this one. He was different. He kept grinning at her without any malice in it and pure happiness-- happiness that beamed from his whole body. His rows of teeth showing and some spaces empty.
"Nothing." The kid asnwered still wearing a bright smile.
"Didn't your parents tell you that staring at strangers is bad?" Y/N said.
"No. I have no parents." The kids asnwered again, oddly still wearing a smile.
"Oh." She said. A sense of guilt began build in her, thinking that she might've startva very touchy subject, especially for a child like him. Just as she was about to apologize the boy then again spoke.
"But Haneul-noona did! She's the one that takes care of us along with Hyejin-noona. I live across the street at the orphanage!" His small, chubby fingers pointed across the street where stood a small building with a sign that says, "Home for Hopes and Dreams".
She then turned back to the young boy, looking for any kind of sadness or lonliness like some orphans do, but no. His bright smile hasn't faltered a bit and to be honest, Y/N was taken aback at how lightly he takes his situation.
"You have no idea what you are right now, don't you?" She asked suddenly and all thoughts of apologising vanished into curiosity. The boy then turned to her as he tilted his head a bit to his right.
"I do, though. I am an orphan,my mom left me at the door of Haneul-noona's orphanage to take care of me because either she doesn't want me or she wants a better life for me." He said. Agai this had shocked Y/N. Heknew about everything but then is still postive and bright about it; she's beginning to think that being an orphan is better than being repressed her whole life.
"But ot everything is negative!" He beamed. "You just have to be happy and think you're not alone."
Hearing this, she hoped it was easy to believe that you are not alone. She barely had friends, none at that matter, and forced to do everything she didn't like.
"But I have no friends." Y/N mumbled in defeat. She placed her knees against her chest and wrapped her arms around it while resting her chin. She felt the boy sit beside her and caressed her head.
"You're not alone, noona. I'm your friend! My name is Jeongin." She looked up seeing his blinding grin again. Seeing his smile is like seeing the sun shines in her life for once. Her world where everything seemed wrong now appeared to be right. Her dark and lonely world is brightned up by the son of sun itself.
She finally found a baby sunshine in her life.
