All of a sudden, Link remembered a previous quest to defeat Ganon. He was fighting Gohma, queen of the parasites. He had been running thinking of a way to stop the massive beast. "Think Link, think!" He told himself many times throughout the battle. He tried hitting her with a sword, bombs, boomerang, but they all failed the task. Then he thought, one giant eye. He had to shoot it in the eye. He came out from behind the column he was hiding behind and stared Gohma directly into the eye. Then, he pulled out his bow and arrow loaded it, and aimed. He knew what had to happened and released his hand. It had been a direct hit. Gohma jumped back and some how talked to Link.

"The person who solves the riddle of how to defeat the Gohma queen becomes the master of all of the Gohma. What do you command of us master?" Asked Gohma. "Go somewhere desolate where nobody dare comes. You can be free, but you must stay in that area," said Link, understanding that the Gohma had been controlled by Ganon.

Link now knew that the Gohma had decided to confide in the Great Sandship, thinking no one would dare come near, due to the rumors of this place being haunted. Gohma had appeared right in front of him. Link could hear drops in the distance. It might've been raining elsewhere.

"Old buddy, have you decided that you would attack again, after you had been triumphant in the past. I'm afraid things might become different now that I have a few buddies with me," Gohma said.

It seemed as though a curse had been lifted, keeping the other Gohmas invisible. At once, as though it had been coordinated, all of the Gohmas attacked, none quite as massive as the queen. Link pulled out his shield and was somehow able to deflect the attack from all around him. He knew that the Goddess of Hylia, must be counting on Link to defeat Ganon and save Hyrule. Then he had an idea. If Gohma was weak to an arrow, lesser gohmas would be even more weak to arrows so it might not matter if it wasn't as strong. Link pulled out a bomb arrow, pointed it to the air and shot. He rolled out of the way and pulled out his shield. He was pushed back, but luckily not injured. He stared at the gohmas. There was no sign of life. He felt a little guilty but he knew it would turn out good in the end. He ventured forth into the Sandship and saw it. The timestone was upon a pedestal. It was stone, and the Triforce was carved on it. He took it and carefully placed it in his pouch and headed towards the Great Deku Tree.

After two hours of walking, Link finally made it to Kokhiri Forest. He pulled out the stone, took a deep breath and went up to the Great Deku Tree.

"After fighting a colony of gohmas, I got the timestone. Will I be able to go and fight Ganon now?" Link asked the Great Deku Tree.

"Yes, but first you must hear a tale. It is said that has lived since the Goddess created this land, and has been craving the Triforce ever since. So in Ganon's first journey for the Triforce, he was defeated by someone. It was you Link," the old tree told Link.

"B...but how? I'm sure I would've remembered something like that," Link stammered. He was mesmerized at how he would've not remember something so important.

"You don't remember, because it was a different Link. But it was also the Link. You see, when you defeated Ganon he put a curse on you, Princess Zelda, and him. After death, you would all reincarnate and fight again. He made it so you and Zelda wouldn't have memories from past lives, but he would. This is the key on how to seal Ganon once and for all. You must recruit the other Links to help seal Ganon. That is his only weakness," the Great Deku Tree told Link.

And just like that, the leaves turned grey and so did the bark. It was as though there was rule that you couldn't tell others about things like this.

"Go Link, you must defeat Ganon. You are Hyrule's only h." The Great Deku Tree couldn't finish. He had died.

"No, Great Deku Tree! You can't. You're the only way I can defeat Ganon. I'll never know how," Link said.

He didn't want to do this now. He didn't want other people to die for him. But he knew he must. That's what the Goddess of Hylia wanted. That's what the Great Deku Tree would've wanted.
