'Why did you throw me in there?' Jezzerelle asked. She pounded on the invisible barricade between her and her foe, who now stood before her, separated by an Impenetrable forcefield.
'Partially experimentation, mostly love.'
Jezzerelle was furious. Who was this woman who spoke of love after murdering so many within the fallen city of Reale?
'You have no right to speak of love, you possess none within your heart.'
'Oh my sweet, sweet Jezzerelle. I loved you like a mother, which is why I put you in there,'
'You know NOTHING, about my mother.'
'I do, after all, I am her.'
Jezzerelle stood shocked, eyes wide open, jaw gaping wide, aghast. She stood before her own mother, who should have been dead so many years ago.
'You may have seemed to notice that you can't reach me. That is because I have a protective barrier around myself.'
'You don't have the courage to face me without one?'
'Of course I do! The carnage would be unimaginable!'
'Who said I would go that far to kill you?' Jezzerelle growled
'Who said it was you who would cause the carnage?' Doctor Angelica smirked
The woman's back tore apart, wings emerged from within, similar to those of Jezzerelles.
No, stronger than that of Jezzerelles.
She morphed into something less human, and she levitated above the ground, graceful but deadly.
'I present you, Jezzerelle. The Mère des anges.'
'What are you?' Jezzerelle asked, shocked.
'I am you. And you are me.'
Jezzerelle recovered from her shock, regained her senses, drew the Acier and raised it.
'You, are not my equal. The Acier thirsts, and your blood shall stain my blade.'
'Brave words, but I created you, and I can destroy you.'
Jezzerelle smirked
'You created me, and I have reformed what you made to suit myself. You have no idea what you're up against.'
The small talk was over, Jezzerelle once more plunged the Acier into her chest, and she morphed as well, matching her mother.
'Let us end this, Jezzerelle.'
'It's only just begun, Angelica.'
Jezzerelle did not initiate, she waited. She noticed from the very start that her foe had not armed herself. She didn't have a blade. How she would fight, that would soon be clear to her.
'You falter, that will be your fall.' And Angelica swooped down towards her.
Jezzerelle readied her Acier, and instead. Dropped to the ground, her back completely healed, and her Acier raised high. Angelica was sliced by the sudden speed of the blade.
'You were no match for me, mother.' As she sheathed the blade.
'You underestimate me, my fault for making you fight such weak underlings.'
Jezzerelle was surprised, nobody had managed to stay alive after a strike from her blade. She turned, and Angelica stood there, one wing completely bloody while the other, gone.
'I applaud you. You negated my flight. But now, you shall die. I have no need for failed experiments.'
She charged at Jezzerelle, fists raised. She was seasoned in hand to hand combat it seems, Jezzerelle thought. She knew well enough that one should never underestimate their adversary, and Jezzerelle leapt back and drew the Acier once more.
'That's dirty, I come at you with my hands and you raise your blade?'
'You've proven to me that you pose a threat big enough for the Acier to come into play.'
Angelica fought back once more, finally landing a hit on Jezzerelle, it was strong, but something about it wasn't right. She had too much confidence in her fists if she dared to face Jezzerelle with nothing else. Jezzerelle felt a slight cramp in her stomach, and she didn't want to linger around to find out.
With that, Jezzerelle lunged forward. Angelica leaped back as well, anticipating the charge, what she didn't expect was Jezzerelle did not stop the charge there, she continued to lunge with her blade ready.
'You expected me to strike you so quickly? What a shame, you may be strong mother, but it seems my experience betters your own.'
And with that, Jezzerelles disposal of her mother was as quick as their meeting.
Angelica looked at her, on the edge of her life, she summoned her words in the final moment.
'How could you kill me so easily, knowing all the things we did together and what I did for you? Does our family mean nothing to you?'
Jezzerelle stared at her blankly
'It's exactly because of what you did to me, I could kill you without remorse. Burn in hell, wench.'
