I heard my nephew start to cry shortly after Elliot left, so I decided to head to Cynthia's apartment to see if she could talk and feed Max at the same time. I just really needed to discuss what I was feeling about my husband showing up here after not being around for 3 months.
"Cy?" I questioned, as I opened the door to her apartment.
"Liv?" Cynthia questioned. I walked towards her bedroom and she held a bottle to Max's mouth and looked up at me.
"Can I tell you something?" I breathed, and she nodded.
"Yeah, of course, you can." She replied. I walked over and sank down on the end of the bed, and started to tell her what Elliot and I had talked about as if it wasn't very late a night and he had shown up randomly.
"Elliot was here?" She breathed, and I nodded slowly.
"Yeah, he just left a little bit ago. I told him that I am keeping the baby." I breathed, as I looked at my nephew instead of at my sister. I didn't want to see the anger in her eyes after everything I had just said to her.
"You should've come and gotten me. I could've told him off. You were devastated after he just walked out and didn't come back."
"Cy-"
"No, Olivia. Let me be the big sister right now and tell you that I would've stood up for you if you would've come and gotten me."
"I want him back, Cynthia. I miss him and I love him. I just can't get hurt again and I can't have him tell me that our child isn't wanted. Because I want this baby. I am already in love with it, and I've always wanted another kid, just not this soon."
"But it doesn't matter to you that this baby is coming into your life sooner than anticipated, because you are meant to be its mother and Elliot is an ass for saying what he said."
"Cy, let me decide if I let him back in or not... okay?"
"Olivia-"
"No, Cynthia. Please. I'm begging you. Let me decide if my kids will have their father back."

The next morning, I took Mary to school and let Chris ride the bus. Cynthia stayed home with Max since she was still on leave, but I didn't want to leave her with two babies, so I took Meredith to drop Mary off at school.
"Mom, did I hear you talking to someone last night after we all went to bed?" Mary asked as we walked into her school, nearly an hour before classes started. I had Meredith placed on my hip, and she occupied herself by playing with my necklace.
"You did," I replied.
"Was it Aunt Cy?" Mary asked, and I shook my head as I opened the front door for her. She walked in before I did.
"No. It wasn't." I replied. We quietly headed towards the front office, but before we even entered the office, Mary stopped and turned to look at me.
She was dressed in a uniform because the only school I could find that would let her attend even after being expelled was a private school. She smoothed her slacks a bit as she eyed me.
"Mom."
"Do you want to know who it is?" I asked.
"I do. Now, who were you talking to last night?" She mused.
"Your father."
"You were talking to Elliot?" She asked, and I frowned. I hate that she didn't even refer to him as Dad anymore, but I guess it made sense because Meredith doesn't even ask where Daddy is anymore.
"He showed up and asked to talk. Chris got to see him, and we talked about how you had to go to this school and how I was planning on keeping the baby. I'm raising you, Chris, Meredith, and this baby with or without him." I spoke, and Mary frowned for a moment.
"Can I see him too?" She questioned.
"Do you want to?"
"I do... maybe? Possibly..."
"Okay, then I'll call him and tell him that you want to see him. Do you want him to get you from school?"
"I don't know. Maybe..."
"Okay, well just keep an eye out on your phone. I'll call him and ask, then get in contact with you if he can."
"They will like me here, right?" Mary asked as she eased away from the conversation about her father.
"Just don't start to hate them and think badly about them until you give them a shot. Okay?"
"Okay... I love you, Mom."
"I love you too, honey. Now, I'll give them the paperwork and make sure you are set before heading back. If you need anything at all, get in contact with me."

As I drove home, I called Elliot. When he answered, he laughed softly because he could hear the kids music that I was playing for Meredith.
"Like the song?" I asked.
"I do. Very metal, if I have to classify it." He laughed.
"So, Mary wants to see you. Would you be okay with picking her up after school?" I asked.
"Of course I can pick her up. Baby-"
"Elliot, please don't call me that. Okay?"
"Okay, I promise you that I won't. When does she get out of school and what is her school now?"
"Hudson Prep. And she gets released at 2:53. Random time, I know."
"Okay, I'll be there to get her. Is she okay with me?"
"She asked if she could see you, but that was after she called you Elliot and not Dad."
"Oh geez..."
"There is going to be a long road you'll have to walk to get back to where we once were."
"Can I say something to you, please? You don't have to say it back."
"You love me still, I know that. And I love you too. It just kinda sucks ass that you walked away from us."
"I'm sorry, and I'll never be able to stop being sorry. Now, Liv, I'm going to head to the gym, but I promise that I'll be on time to get Mary."
"Good. Okay, uh, I'll see you later then."
Elliot and I hung up, and I sat my phone in the cup holder. I looked back and saw Meredith kicking her legs and dancing a bit in her seat. I just wished that Elliot was here to see it too because he's missed so much.
