Ever say things you shouldn't, and then you immediately regret them, but your pride won't let you apologize?

Right now that, by some unforeseen mojo magic stuff, is happening to me. See I've had a really bad day. You know the ones where you wake up and it feels like you just climbed into bed, well that's probably because I did. And then you spill milk down the of your school uniform, the only clean top you have for the day.

It also happens to be the middle of summer, the hottest day we had all year its 37°C, Come on, could my luck get any worse! So no matter how much perfume I drenched myself in, I still smelled like rotten milk.

But wait it gets even better, I tripped over at the front gates at school, whilst everyone was waiting for the bell to ring. My bag consequently fell open, revealing my younger brothers latest prank. He had filled my bag with condoms, glow in the dark lube and who knows what else. I sure as hell didn't stick around to find out.

I fell asleep in History then Mr Garen, my history teacher suggested I should have a bedtime again. Just like his seven year old daughter as I had left my slippers on as well.

And to top it off, I was standing in front of our schools star soccer player. I just told him that my grandma could play better than him. Yeah... ha, the entire school stopped and stared. I think it all comes down to the fact that he pushed past me in the canteen line, something in me snapped. Now my brain was on overdrive trying to find an escape exit.

Unfortunately his goons had made a circle round me. Taking a deep breath I look up at Luke Ryder, his eyes are this real piercing blue, and his hair wow. I'd never been close enough to him to study his facial feature, but his jaw line game is definitely strong. Dammit girl, don't let his superhuman attractiveness distract you, think, think!

"What's your name?" Luke spat at me, his voice filled with venom. Ouch I must have hit a nerve.

"Quite frankly, it's none of your business" I retorted, no, no why do I do this to myself, I swear I'm just digging my own grave.

Laughing, sarcastically, clucking his tongue - you know that way people do when they are pissed beyond belief, yeah, I'd pissed off Luke Ryder, he could with the snap of his fingers make my high school life a living hell. "You look like a smart girl, I'm going to ask once more, what is your name?"

Okay so now I was very intimidated, but to hell if I was going to show it "Sunshine" I replied sarcastically. It got a few small smiles from his goons, but his expression jut darkened even further. I mean it would have been a little sad if my parents had really blessed their daughter with the name 'Sunshine'. I had jet black hair and pale skin - the type that looked as if it had never even seen the sun, and my eyes were a vibrant green. Just to help you out a little my name is really Matilda, but everyone calls me Maddie.

He took a step closer to me, he was now in my personal space, he overstepped the mark, and okay maybe I did first but still! "Well Sunshine" he said moving his fingers in quotation marks, "How bout we make a little bet then" he smirked, oh shit I thought, what on earth have I gotten myself into. "Since I'm so shit according to you at soccer, you must be hella good, Yes?"

Stupidly I nodded my head along with what he was saying, his breath smelt fantastic, how does someone have such good breath halfway through the day? We aren't even allowed gum at school. He chuckled "Well thanks Sunshine, but I don't always listen to school rules".

"What are you talking about now" I asked. His eyebrows pulled together, confusion etched on his face.

"You do know you just said that out loud right?" he questioned me.

"What part?' I said letting the panic creep into my voice, earning another chuckle from him.

"After school on the field, One on One, you and me, if I win, you have to streak once every week, in a place of my choice, for the entire term" He challenged.
