Before I can knock on the door, an older lady wearing a lose, red dress opens the door.
"You must be, Tia?" She extended her hand.
"Yes ma'am." I shy away from her hand.
"Don't be shy, dear. You'll fit right in here." She walked me into the house.
"Slip your shoes off right here... Oh! I'm Madison- you can call me Maddi, or mom, whichever you prefer." She smiled at me with a warm and open heart. She was one of those people who you could tell is a pure, kindhearted person.
"Thank you, Maddi. It means a lot. Where can I keep my stuff?" I ask.
"Oh yes. Upstairs to the left. Eliza will help you." Maddi glances up the main staircase.
"Eliza! Eliza come down here and show Tia to her room!" She raised her voice, only slightly though. I was not frightened, no I felt safer here than in my old home.
"Yes mom!" Eliza comes running from the room over. "Hi, Tia. I'm Eliza. Follow me. You're so pretty!" She instantly grabbed my hand and pulled me up the smooth, waxed staircase. Her hair was long and red. It smelled like cherries! Cherries and sugar! Her nose was short and slightly curved at the tip. her lips were full and plump. I had only looked into her eyes for three moments but all I'd seen were pools of oceans. They sparkled like sapphire in the sun. I knew it was wrong but I was in love at first sight. I was in love with my new sister.
