sixteen-year-old angel gilbert has a rare disease called xeroderma pigmentosum, or better known as xp. it means that if she goes out in the sunlight, her disease could get worse, and she could die. being sheltered in the vicinity of her home with her parents and siblings, all of which could go out in the sunlight. all angel dreams of is one day being able to be normal and being able to see the sun. but that day may never come.
