I held Kat's crying form close to me. Her pajamas still on and her hair wild and crazy where she was just asleep. She wasn't the only one crying though. I was, Emerson and Lilly were, Remington was, and so we're the nurses and Sophia's doctor.

Kat was in fact the worst though, it was killing her. The person she's been there for, for fourteen years is dying. This person is her blood, pretty much like her daughter.

"Look, Kat, it's not going to do any of us much good by standing out here and crying. We need to go in that room and make her feel special," I said, holding Kat back and making her look me in the eyes.

"I know," she said, wiping the tears off her cheeks. "But I'm not going to tell her," she said and the rest of us nodded in agreement.

I heard thunder again and started to wonder why I wasn't blacking out or anything. Shaking it off I lead Kat into her sisters room, sitting her in the chair next to her bed.

"Why are you guys crying," Sophia asked when she seen her sister's and my face. "Is something wrong?"

We shook our heads no and smiled at her. I sat down on her bed next to her and she looked towards the door as Emerson, Lilly, and Remington walked in.

"Oh, you're no longer on the screen," she said, laughing a little.

"Nope," Emerson said and made his way to the other side of her bed and hugged her.

The surprise seemed to shock her and I could tell it definitely shocked Kat to see someone who barely knows them hugging her sister.

Once Emerson released her from the hug Lilly hugged her, then the couple moved back from the bed a little.

"Who wants to play something with me," she asked, shuffling the deck of cards she had been holding the whole time.

"Count me in," I said, and everyone else nodded in agreement.

"What are we gonna play," Lilly asked as everyone gathered around her bed.

"Bull shit," she said and I laughed sadly, remembering that's what I always played with her during the long waits in the hospital before. In fact, the pack of cards she has now are the same ones I bought her for her eighth birthday.

That was the day that I taught her the game and Kat got mad at me because she thought it was to early to teach her any curse words. She told us to stop playing as well, but of course, Sophia and I didn't listen to her and continued playing the game.

I smiled as she laid the gold cards out for each of us then explained the game before laying the first card down.

****************

The second game has been going on for almost an hour now, Remington and I were both out and sitting on the couch holding hands.

At some point a few nurses joined in for their break. All that was left was a nurse, Emerson, and Sophia of course.

Lilly and I made a bet on who was gonna win, the loser will be buying everyone food. My bet was Sophia because she has had the most experience and her bet was of course Emerson. Remington was joking around when we made the bet, saying that the nurse would end up winning.

I watched as the nurse laid down a card and I seen something flash in Sophia's eyes. "BULL SHIT," she screamed, making Kat, who was asleep, jump awake.

The nurse turned her card over to reveal it was in fact not an eight, but a five instead.

"And you, lady, are out," Sophia said and the nurse laughed before getting up and leaving.
