Promise me.. Ch 15

~Elliot's P.O.V.~

I smiled over at her closed eyes. I turned over quietly and unlocked my phone. I checked out my social media to see if anything was going on.. And there kinda was.

Students from school posted pictures of Noel and I. Mainly her though. I smiled at most of the comments they left me and some of the pictures they posted.

I heard a quiet noise and turned my head. Noel was scratching her leg. I don't think she was supposed to do that..

I waited and watched her hand come out of the sheets and saw red fingertips. Oh no...

I sat alone in the waiting room of the hospital. I had already filled out the forms and now I was sitting by myself.

Tears in my eyes as I cried in the silence. Noel was somewhere in the hospital. But I dont know where.. They wouldn't let me follow.

Why? She was just in the hospital days ago.. Why is she here again? She doesn't deserve this at all..

I tried so hard to stay awake but it was a challenge. But eventually I fell asleep.

I couldn't remember what I dreamt about. It felt like I was in a daze.. Not asleep but not awake..

I woke up in a sweat. Still alone in the same waiting room. I sighed and waited.. And waited.. And waited some more.. Finally a nurse had come..

"Come with me.." She quietly spoke

I nodded and stood up quickly and followed her..

She lead me down several halls. Seconds later we arrived at a door.. She quietly turned the long knob and let me inside.

She shut the door after I came in leaving me alone with a hospital bed.

I slowly approached the bed and looked down on a sleeping angel.

Noel was pale. Her arms rested on her sides and she laid flat. Her hair fell upon her chest.. She wore an oxygen mask.

Tears fled to my eyes again.

Flashbacks from the drive here conjured in my mind. I wish I could erase all of these terrible memories.

I began to sob and apologize to her..

"I'm so sorry.. I don't know why this is happening to you!" But all I hear is beeping from her heart rate..

I bend over swiftly..

"You're going to be okay.." I kiss her forehead "I promise.." I stand up straight and hold her hands in mine..

She's so beautiful.. Even with a mask on her face.. she's gorgeous.. I lightly rub her stomach and pull up a chair to sit on beside her.

I set my head down on the bed next to her body and cried. Why.. Why Noel..? She did nothing to deserve this..

First her terrible wounds and now she can't breathe.. Why..

I shortly cried myself to sleep.. I had a dream.. And she was in it.

She walked barefoot in the tall grass with a beautiful white dress on. Her flawless hair blew in the wind as I followed. She lead me to a tire swing on a gigantic tree.

She sat down and I pushed her back and forth on the swing. She smiled and laughed. It almost felt real.. I actually started to believe it was real..

It was only us two in a big field of trees and grass. Birds sang and the sun shined. She giggled and we switched places.

She pushed me back and forth while I laughed making her crack up. We shouted to each other, smiling and joking around.
