Ella was walking to school when she felt like she was being watched. Her long blonde hair whipped about as she looked around the area. After about 20 seconds, her hazel eyes stopped on the culprit. There was an enormous black bird with red eyes staring right at her. Ella had always noticed birds flying, cawing or perched on a branch. However, something just didn't seem right about this bird. Usually a bird would look around as if it was twitching, but this one didn't blink, didn't look around, it just kept staring at her. In fact, the black bird was so still and stiff, it appeared to be a statue. It was only when Ella quickly jumped to the left that she saw the bird's head and gaze clearly move along with her.

"What are you staring at your dumb bird?!" Ella yelled. The bird didn't make a sound or respond in any way other than continuing to state at her. Ella stared back and she suddenly felt very strange. The world began to spin and everything went black.

"Huh? What's going on?" Ella felt groggy and faint. However, a certain sight shot a cold chill through her body. She was staring down at herself, but how was that possible? Ella went to wipe her face and she found that her arm wouldn't work right. Ella looked down and saw black feathers....and then began to scream.

"Caww!!! Cawww?!?!!?" That is the only sound that would come out of Ella's mouth.

"No!! This isn't right! What is happening?!" Ella thought to herself. That's when Ella saw her former human body smile up at her and wave.

"Stop!! How did this happen! Change me back!" Ella wasn't even sure what she was trying to communicate with. It clearly had to be something more than a normal bird. And at first Ella thought she wasn't heard, but whoever or whatever was in hear body shook its head no and smiled evilly. Then an eerie tune seemed to come out of nowhere. Ella realized that it was her former human voice that was humming it. Ella watched through the red eyes of the bird.....as her human body ran of the sidewalk and into incoming traffic.

"Stop it!! Don't go there!! Please!! Sto!!" Ella stopped screaming as she was suddenly back into her body. She didn't even have time to scream again as an SUV was speeding right towards her. There was a blaring horn, the screech of tires....and then silence for what seemed like an eternity. Then, a cawing laugh, before there was silence again.
