I sat in the living room and waited for Mary to get home from seeing Elliot. Meredith was still napping and Chris was upstairs playing. I was nervous about what Mary and Elliot were talking about, and I was nervous about if she was going to forgive him for leaving us or if she was going to let this anger get between her and Elliot and never forgive him. I know that I wasted so much time being angry with Serena, to only have her get taken away from us.

"Mary." I smiled, when I heard the front door open. I stood slowly and saw her wipe a few tears from her cheeks.

"Don't ask if he hurt me. I am crying because I'm happy. Because I got to spend time with Dad." Mary smiled.

"Oh, good. C'mere." I spoke, and we met halfway and embraced each other. I rubbed her back as she clung to me and continued to cry softly.

"Did you have fun?" I mused.

"I did. He took me out for milkshakes and fries at our place. Where we went when I had a bad day." Mary breathed.

"I'm glad you had a good time. So, is he still here?" I asked, and she nodded against my shoulder.

"I was supposed to tell you that he wants to see you," Mary spoke.

"Okay, well why don't you go wash your face and then set the table for dinner? I have meatloaf in the oven."

"Will do, Mom."

I took my sweet time getting out to see Elliot. He was sitting on the front bumper of his car and smiled at me.

"Hey, Liv."

"You made her day, El. She's smiling and so happy."

"I'm glad that I could do that. Her smile is so great to see." Elliot replied. I crossed my arms over my chest before walking over and sitting beside him. I reached over and found his hand and squeezed it with my smaller hand.

"Elliot, I love you," I spoke, and he smiled at me.

"I love you too... I was so scared to tell you earlier. I know that we promised to be together forever, and I broke that."

"You were an ass... telling me to get rid of our kid and then just walking away and not coming back for 3 months."

"I promise you that I didn't cheat on you."

"I know, you are still my Elliot in that way."

"How are we going to do this, Liv?" He asked as he looked over at me. I didn't meet his eyes, I just stared at the basketball hoop that hadn't been used since when we first moved back in here.

"We are going to take it slowly. We can't rush into anything and end up fighting again. Chris, Mary, and Meredith have to come first. And I think what needs to happen, is that you need to go upstairs and get Meredith up. Remind her that you are her father."

"Okay." He breathed.

"Then I need you to join us for dinner and when I ask if you want to stay the night, you need to say no to me."

"Yes to the dinner and no to the sleepover... gotcha."

"But say yes to kissing me." I breathed. I turned my head and looked at my husband, before taking my free hand and gently touching his cheek. He shook a bit from the gentle yet loving touch. He leaned towards me, his mouth opening slightly.

Our lips met, and his mouth overtook mine. I felt his mouth close over my bottom lip and pull onto it a bit as the kiss started to break. Once our lips were parted, Elliot started to kiss the corner of my mouth and worked his way to my neck. It would've gotten a lot hotter, but I stopped him with one small word.

"Slow."

Chris talked nonstop during dinner, whether he had food in his mouth or not. He was so excited about having his father at dinner with us, and that his family seemed to be back together.

Meredith was shy around Elliot and refused to let him change her diaper and get her up. So I had to do it, and it sucked because I wanted them to be as close as they had been before. I don't know how many times I would ask Elliot to Meredith down for the night, to only find them both asleep in the rocking chair in her room.

"Momma?" Chris questioned, and since the dinner started, he was quiet while he listened to my answer.

"Yes, baby?"

"Is Daddy allowed to stay here tonight?" Chris asked, and I swallowed hard before shaking my head.

"He can't sleep here, Chrissy. But he can come over and spend time here if he wants."

"It looks like Mere needs more milk," Elliot spoke because Chris didn't respond to me. Elliot stood up and reached to grab Meredith's sippy cup, but our small daughter grabbed it and clutched it to her chest and screamed at the top of her tiny lungs.

"Okay! Okay, Mere, I'll get you some more milk!" I exclaimed over her screams. I stood up and grabbed the cup from her as large tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Momma!" Meredith sobbed, and I walked over and picked her up and held her close before awkwardly sitting her cup down before walking out of the kitchen.

Meredith clung to me, and I knew that Elliot must've been so upset that Meredith wanted nothing to do with him.

"Baby, you are okay. I promise you that." I breathed, as I swayed back and forth while holding her close.

"Daddy is mean!" She sobbed, and I stopped moving.

"Did you say, Daddy? Who is your Daddy?" I questioned, quickly.

"Him!" Meredith cried, and I turned around and saw Elliot standing in the doorway of the kitchen.

"Meredith, Daddy loves you so much and he just wants you to trust him... he wants you not to scream and cry when he is around? Okay? Let him change your diaper and hold you. Please, Mere." I begged.

"No, Momma. No, he mean." She sniffled, before hiding her face in my hair. I looked at Elliot and mouthed that I'm sorry and that I'll try.

He mouthed that he was leaving.

Hopefully, he wasn't going to leave for good.
