Joshua entered the boys bathroom assuming Tyler would be in here.
"Tyler?" He asks as he looks through the stalls to find black vans.
He doesn't get a response but he knows Tyler is in the last stall, considering his black vans.
"Hey are you okay Tyler, this girl, Ashley told me you ran off," he hopes Tyler will come out and talk to him.
It's silent, but he hears one faint sniff from inside the stall.
"Tyler can you please come out?" Joshua says softly.
Tyler doesn't want to come out because his panic attack made him cry an ugly cry, well anytime he cries he looks ugly, he thinks.
But he just hopes Joshua will leave but he knows he won't so he wipes his cheeks and prays that his eyes aren't bloodshot.
He doesn't want to look ugly in front of Joshua.
He wipes his eyes and slowly opens the stall door.
Joshua is looking down and once he hears the door open his head snaps up.
It's Tyler's turn to look down.
"Hey what-what happened?" Joshua noticed that Tyler's eyes were a little red and that his long eyelashes were slightly wet.
His heart shattered at the thought of Tyler crying again and him not being able to do anything about it.
"Um nothing, it's nothing," Tyler wipes his eyes again and goes to wash his hands.
"Tyler please, I don't want to force you into telling me but I want to know why you're upset so I can make you feel better," Joshua stresses.
Tyler's heart aches.
But he's too embarrassed to tell Joshua why he was upset.
But he also doesn't want to make Joshua upset.
"This girl came up and asked me something and for some reason I panicked..." Tyler got the courage to say.
He says it quick but the tall boy understands.
"Oh I'm so sorry Tyler, what did she ask?" he frowns knowing from experience panic attacks are the worst.
Tyler definitely does not want to say the answer to that.
He could only think of one thing to say.
So the easier thing he can do was lie.
"She asked if she wanted to be friends," the small boy says before he thinks twice about it.
Joshua didn't think much of it because Ashley is new and she thought going up to Tyler was a good idea
He nods understandably.
He then opens his arms signaling to give Tyler a hug.
Tyler looks up and hugs Joshua.
He sighs softly for he always feels warm inside when he's wrapped around Joshua's arms.
Even if this is the second time he's hugged the tall boy.
He feels safe, since Joshua is taller Tyler has his head to his chest and it feels like he blocks the entire world.
Which he likes, a lot.
And not to mention he smells so good.
Like good in a friend way.
Totally.
They depart and Joshua tells Tyler that Ashley is watching his stuff.
Tyler completely forgot he left his stuff.
Oh no, he really hopes the girl won't ask him what happened then that would-ughhh.
But Tyler nods and before leaving the bathroom he takes a quick glance at himself in the mirror and thinks, yep still look like trash.
~*~
Ashley waits in Tyler's spot for the boys to come back and she notices that she is sitting on top of an open notebook and she really doesn't mean too but she sees that the boy wrote:
I keep getting this weird feeling every time I'm around Joshua and I don't know if I like it or not-
Ashley stops reading for she doesn't want to invade the boy's privacy, she's read enough.
Guilty she closes the notebook.
A minute later Josh enters with Tyler following behind.
"Hey! Thanks for watching his stuff Ashley," Josh smiles.
"Yes no problem! and I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," she says to Tyler and he's thankful that's all she says before leaving.
"She's nice right?" Joshua asks smiling.
Tyler doesn't like it, for some reason.
Why is he acting like this ughhhhh.
He nods.
