Summary: After a mission goes wrong, you acquire inhuman powers since you had the inhuman gene (if you've watched Agents of SHIELD this will make a lot more sense). Your powers make you feel and see something from a person's past when you touch them, however, you can't control them so you can only feel and see pain. Bucky helps you control them and something else comes out of it.

You wake up to the sound of beeping machines around you. Your eyes flutter open, and you see tubes injected in your arms with some sort of medicine flowing through it. You try sitting up on the hospital bed but you groan the second you feel your sore back. You're confused at first, but then you start recalling yesterday's events and tears come rushing to your eyes. Oh my God, how could I let this happen? They're all probably so angry at me right now... Your anxious thoughts are interrupted when the infirmary door's opens.

"Oh my God, y/n... You're awake." Bucky says sounding extremely relieved and rushes over to your side. However, the second he comes into view, your head turns to look at the wall, unable to look at him. "Hey, y/n, look at me." he pleads. You're swallowing your sobs and fighting the urge to cry.

"Is everyone okay?" you manage to ask.

"Yes, everyone's fine." he reassures. "Y/n, come on..." you finally look at him.

"I'm so sorry." you cry.

"Y/n, what happened yesterday isn't your fault, the mission was lost from the very beginning." Bucky says.

"Of course it's my fault! I tried to play the hero and got everyone hurt instead." you snap at him.

"Sure, you did something stupid, reckless, and impulsive." Bucky says and you scoff. "But look, I'm telling you that everyone's okay, well, everyone but you." he says through sad eyes.

The mission was to retrieve some terrigen crystals (inhuman crystals) from a Hydra base. You thought you guys had planned it well, however, the mission started going wrong from the beginning when you saw that there were way more Hydra agents than you expected. One thing led to another until you found yourself in deep trouble. After seeing that the original plan wasn't going to work, you made up your own and decided to get the crystals yourself. Little did you know that the rest of the Avengers in the mission were going to need your skillset (really similar to Natasha's) to fight off the Hydra agents.

"Y/N!" you hear Bucky grunt through the coms as he fights off the agents. "Where the hell are you?! Are you hurt?!"

"I'm fine." you say. "I've almost gotten to the crystals."

"Y/n, you need to come back here right now." Steve says. "You can't go there by yourself!" he says and you scoff.

"You underestimate me, grandpa." you say, getting closer to the crystals' location. To be honest, part of you knew that Steve was right, it was awfully quiet down there.

"He's right, y/n." Clint chimes in.

"Seriously, girl, come back." Sam says.

"You have to get out of there, y/n." Wanda says.

"Guys, I'm almost there, seriously." you say.

"Fine, if you don't wanna come, we'll come to you." Bucky says.

"Yeah, but we'll talk about this later." Steve says and you roll your eyes.

Suddenly, someone throws a strong blow at you out of nowhere, making you let out a loud grunt as you fall to the ground.
