Jinwoo had been an orphan since he was 15 and the only closest to a family he got is Hoon. They were not blood related but they treat each other as if real brothers. They grew up together but having a permanent house wasn't always easy for them.
They had move from house after house, from one city to another but none of if had ever felt home to the both of them. But as long as they have each other, for them it was enough.
Jinwoo was once a cheerful kid, he was full of sunshine. He 'd always been beautiful, as he always heard form the girls and boys around him, but he never really cared about his appearance. He just wanted to be surrounded by the people he love.
He once had a family and friends that adores him, but that all changes with one letter.
How come they can be near you and yet I melt whenever I tried?
How come you're the reason I'm slowly dying in pain but your still okay not knowing me?
How come they can see you smile so near and
yet all I can do is adore you from afar but still be affected oh so greatly?
How come you shine so bright it's blinding?
How come they can have you and not me?
But then again If I can't have you then NO ONE ELSE WILL.
An anonymous letter he received. It was slipped in inside his locker at his school. Reading the letter send chills down his spine. He went home immediately that day, but when he got home everything was okay, nothing bad happened.
Being an only child his parents sometimes is overprotective of him. But he doesn't complain, he love his parents so much. He told them about the letter, but they brush it off as bullying or maybe someone had a crush on him that wanted his attention, but still they wanted him to be
weary of his surroundings and never go out late at night.
But as days pass by he receive the same letter over and over again, at first he receive it one letter per day, but it multiplied after a week, multiplied even more after a month. He ask for the school's cctv to be reviewed because it was getting alarming, but they didn't see anyone coming near his locker. He was getting frustrated. After a month he stop using his locker.
That's when it all gotten worse, he sometimes get the letter between his books, his notes, he'll find it folded in between of his things. He reported it to the police but the authorities only shrug it off because nothing bad happened to him.
He was getting paranoid, because whoever was doing this to him was so close yet he doesn't even a have a clue who it was. He was being watched.
Jinwoo then started avoiding his friends, smile less and less, started wearing hoodies to hide himself from the world. Everyone around him was worried but they couldn't do anything because he already distance himself from everyone, except his family.
He thought it was for the best, he doesn't want to suspect any of his friends, So he just avoided them, it's easier that way. As long as he had his parents, he'll be okay. Everything will be okay.
But he never knew how wrong he was back then.
One cloudy afternoon after his class, when he was walking his way home, he heard firetrucks from a distance, his heart started to beat fast, then he started running towards his home.
He'll never forget that scene in front of him that he saw that day. The rain started pouring as his house was roaring in an ugly red and orange hues with black smoke reaching up to the clouds. It was a cold day because of the rain but the air coming out from the house was so hot.
It was like in the movies, when something traumatizing was happening to the protagonist, everything was in slow motion. But this wasn't a movie, this was his home, his family. This was his life burning into ashes.
The rain drops burns in his skin. Everything was so loud, the firetrucks, the people around him with pity in their eyes, the little blast from inside their house but he couldn't hear anything, he could only hear a long tiny buzz in his ear, he was pretty sure he was forcing himself to go inside, but the firefighters wouldn't let him.
His happy home, his Utopia, now in blaze in front of him.
His loving parents was inside when it happened.
He was 15, he doesn't know anything about the world yet,
The only family he had was his parents,
Now gone, he was alone.
Then he remembered something,
a line from the letter he received nonstop since he'd gotten it.
But then again If I can't have you then NO ONE ELSE WILL.
He could hear it, he could see the shadow figure smiling at him,
Succeeding in something he had always wanted.
For Jinwoo to be alone.
That day, in front of his burning home, under the rainy clouds,
Jinwoo had lost his strength to stand, collapsing with his knees on the ground, hand on his face, he scream his lungs out until it painfully burns just like his life.
