Running, keep running was all that was going through my head as I kept running. Hearing a car, I ran towards the noise. I ran in front of the car, making it stop as fast as it could, two guys jumped out of the car and looking at me with shocked eyes. Probably looking at my cuts and the state I was in.

Steve and I were arguing about the music, when suddenly Steve stopped faster than the argument started. Looking up, I saw a young woman, standing there in the cold night air. She was bleeding, looked scared out of her mind.
Both Steve and I got out of the car, looking at her when she asked us to help her. After that, she past out. I ran to her side, checking her pulse.
We didn't have enough time to wait for the ambulance, since there could be so many things that happened to her, she could die if we didn't help her fast. Steve drove, as I held her in my arms as we drove to the hospital. Stopping I got out, running inside, I yelled for help as they came with a stretcher.
Gently placing her onto it, the doctor gave me and Steve a nod, knowing we did a good job.
Steve.... I don't like this.
Danny.... What do you mean?
Steve.... What would a lady, be in the woods in the middle of the night alone? She was all banged up, and as soon as she saw us, she passed out. What do you think?
Danny.... Your right, we should look into this.
Steve.... Right, as soon as she wakes up, we need to ask her what happened.
Lani Keli'I Pov
I woke up in hospital, relieved that someone found me. Swallowing, I looked to my nightstand and saw some water. Carefully, leaning over I took the glass in my hand drinking some of the cool fresh water.
Next thing I knew a familiar face came running into my room, it was Adam, Adam Noshimuri. My best friend since I was a little girl.
He was always protective of me, which I didn't mind because he was older than me and his brother was a year older. In some sense it didn't bother me, since our families were so close. My father and Mr Noshimuri were best friends in school, and that's how this whole best friend thing started, and I loved it. I knew my father and Mr Noshimuri weren't up to any good but what could I do?
My thoughts were interrupted when Adam took my hand in his, he was in a frantic state. He sat on the bed pulling me in for a hug, pulling away as he placed his hands on my cheeks.
Adam.... Lani—I—I could have lost you. He whispered, holding my hand in his.
Lani.... I'm fine Adam, I promise. I replied as I whipped the tears away from his face.
Steve.... Sorry to be interrupting, I'm Commander Steve McGarrett from the Five-O task force. And this is Detective Danny Williams form Five-O, could we ask you a few questions?
Lani.... Of course, after all you did save me.
Danny.... Adam, would you mind leaving us—
Lani.... No! I—if you want to talk Adam stays. I said, taking his hand in mine.
Steve.... Alright, do you remember anything of last night? How it started? Anything?
Lani.... Last night, I was alone at home waiting for the takeout I ordered. When I heard a knock on the door, I thought it was them, but when I opened it 4 men in black masks. One of them put a bag over my head, and that's how I woke up in the woods, and I started running when I saw a man with a machete. All I thought was run, or die, then I ran into you, that's all I remember sorry.
Steve.... That's alright, do you remember their voices in anyway did it sound familiar?
Lani.... There was one that did, but I can't be sure really maybe if I heard it again, I'd remember.
Danny.... Alright, we'll have to ask you to stay with one of our people to keep you save—
Adam.... She can stay with me, we've known each other our entire lives. I insist she'd stay with me if that'll be alright Steve?
Steve.... Sure, I'll arrange with Chin to help you escort Miss Kali'I to your home.
Lani.... Lani, after all you did save me, so I think a first name basis is alright.
Danny.... In that case, you can call me Danny and him Steve. Since you know Adam, and so do we. If you need anything here's my card and Steve's call us, when you remember anything about what happened.
Lani.... I will, thank you. For saving my life, if you didn't one of—what! I remember one of the men chasing me in the woods, that's when I ran into you—but I remembered that he tried to kill me because I pulled off his mask revealing his face. I can give you a description of him, if you want.
Steve.... That'll be great, can we send someone to your house tomorrow Adam? If that's okay?
Adam.... Sure, Lani's being released now, I want to take her home so she can get some rest. Tomorrow's fine.
Danny.... Deal see you tomorrow then.

It was the next day and Adam, had gone for a run when there was a knock on the door. Opening it I saw Steve and Danny, both smiling. Nodding my head, I allowed them in with the sketch artist, as they followed me into the living room where I described the man's features.
Man.... All done, I'll give this to Lieutenant Kelly and ask him to run it with the database.
Steve.... Thanks, see you then.
Danny.... Uh-huh, yeah, thanks Chin. Steve, that was Chin, he says the guy's name is Markus Kane, he's a known Assassin for hire, his killed over 50 people that wee hits, all hired by—Mr Kali'I.
Lani.... M—my father? How? He's dead.
Steve.... If he's dead, who ordered the hit on you?
Lani.... I don't know. I whispered, looking down at the ground.
There was something going on here, I didn't understand why but I needed to know. I knew I could rely on Adam to help me, and if it meant I had to ask Michael for help I had to do that.
