"what are you doing here?" salisa asked as she rolled her eyes. she opened the door and was met with brandon, he held a cup holder with two drinks and two large bags of burger king. "uh i came to say sorry i- i have food," he said holding the bags up higher. salisa squinted but opened the door wider for him to slide through. brandon immediately took off his shoes remembering her rule. she walked down the hall without a word and he followed.
when she sat on her bed she finally spoke, "i only let you in cause you have burger king, and you don't have to say sorry it was me who agreed to go to the beach with you, and i don't remember pulling my hand back, so," salisa trails off. brandon places down the brown bags on the drawer next to the door. shaking his head he walks over to salisa and sits awfully close to her. she notices but doesn't move away.
"i don't mean about only today sa, i'm sorry for everything. i'm sorry for hurting you, for making you question your friends, your instincts. i didn't deserve you, i'll never deserve you. but i'll always love you and- i'm just beyond sorry for the shit i did to you, and the shit i made you feel, i'm so sorry salisa," salisa looked down at her carpeted floor blinking back tears. hearing his apology in person hits different for sure.
"it's okay, i forgive you," those were words she never thought she'd say to him. ever, or at least not this soon. "w-what? really?" brandon asked leaning his head down to get a look at her face. she glanced over at him briefly as she nodded. he let out a sigh like he'd held it in for years. "i don't want you to think you have to. i mean the last thing i want is for you to feel like i'm pressuring you to forg-" salisa shook her head aggressively.
"the only way i'll really move on is by forgiving you, i can't get over you if i'm still holding on to you," brandon bit the inside of his cheek, a stinging in his chest took over as salisa spoke. "right," he mumbled. "well i uh got you spicy chicken sandwiches i know they're your favorite, i um actually just remembered i have to be at the stu right now so, yeah i'll see you," salisa's head shot up as she watched the boy scurry out of her apartment, leaving the two drinks and food on her drawer.
